Boma or Jiko for dinner??

We are going in Feb with 8 adults and 2 toddlers. Some of us are adventurous and others not so much. My MIL and FIL I think would like the African theming so I'm looking for something they would like. I probably know the answer in the buffet/Boma would be the best of the 2 just for variety.

Just back from 5 days at AKL, and ate at Boma three times (the original plan was for just once)! After comparing the menus at the two restaurants, we decided that Boma offered a much greater chance to try new and unusual dishes and flavors. It was so good that we had to go again a few nights later.

For a romantic dinner for two adults, or even dinner for four, Jiko would be great, but with a party of eight adults and two kids, I would definitely choose Boma!

Here's another vote for Boma, especially with two toddlers in tow. I think you'll find something for everyone there.

The juice (I think it's called Frunch?!?) is really good and they have choices of standard breakfast fare as well as some different things to try. Been a few times and always enjoyed it.

I'm partial to JIKO....BOM A is ok...but JIKO is awesome IMHO...

We love both Jiko and Boma. Jiko is a quiet, reserved, classy restaurant with 2 servers per table and FABULOUS food! Boma is a bustling, happy, well-laid out buffet with equally fabulous food. I want to go to Boma first, then Jiko, the next time I go back, but either is great. With toddlers, Boma might be easier. Lucky you to have to make this delicious decision!

(BTW - Jiko has "the Wine Room" which is separate from the rest of the restaurant and is great for a large party! We ate their for my son's graduation from college party with 8 adults (no little ones) and it was perfect.)
