i know. They are totally different. They are both on my bucket list. I have one ADR to fill. Those are my choices.

Boma, and it's not even remotely close. Captain's Grille is a perfectly fine option when you want a no-fuss, low-stress table-service meal on short notice, especially with a large group. You often don't need a reservation. But Boma is much more a destination restaurant, with signature items worth of seeking out. Captain's Grille is solid, but there's nothing particularly noteworthy about it.

Totally agree with Boma - Animal Kingdom Lodge is a beautiful place to poke around and have a wander, and the food at Boma is much more interesting, with the wide range of African-inspired options. Not to mention delicious!

I and my husband love Boma and think it is one of the best buffet meals in all of WDW. Very unique, but also have selections like the Meat Carving Stations and Potatoes that are for everyone. The Zebra Domes are wonderful.

Even if you hate everything at Boma (which you won't) it's still a great experience. The restaurant has great a great theme, the cast members are awesome, and you get to experience Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is the most beautiful area on property IMO. Plus... Zebra Domes.

Captain's Grill is a perfectly fine place to eat. But it's nothing memorable. If you could do both I wouldn't say ditch CG because it's bad or anything. But if you can only go to one? Boma all the way.

Boma is a must-do for us for every trip. Both their dinner and breakfast buffets are outstanding. You can't go wrong with Boma.

Captain's Grille is very good, but not worth going out of your way for (We only eat there when we are looking for a casual TS in the EP resort area). Boma is definitely more exciting and more of a "destination" restaurant. The food is great and AKL is gorgeous.

Someday I will get to Captain's Grille. I have wanted Boma (for dinner) for quite some time. I just could never seem to work it in. Since we are staying at AKL :cool1:I knew it would be convenient. It was just convincing my husband. I wouldn't say he's picky but it made him a bit nervous. Once I showed him the responses, he's on board with it. I can't wait. And I still pinch myself regarding the fact that we are staying there.

Never eaten at Captains Grill but we stay at AKL every year and naturally frequent Boma. Nice selection of food including some things that arent "standard" fare. Omelette station is great. Atmosphere is a 10. And once you're done eating, you can walk outside to the Savannah viewing area and take a look at the wild life up close. Its pretty great.
