Boma on same night as MNSSHP

Is this plan nuts or do you think it will work?

On the day of MNSSHP I have planned to eat at Boma at 5:00pm, then get to the MK for the party to start. Do you think we will have enough time? We have nothing planned for the rest of the day except for relaxing and resort hopping. So we could arrive a little early and see if we can be seated. I guess that we would need to leave Boma about 6:30ish.

Also how strange will it look to have two adults dressed up in costume in the restaurant

I wouldn't as you can enter on a party ticket from 4pm.

To get the most out of the party you need to be in there early imo. We were one of the first in to see mickey and minnie when they opened at 7, people were lined up for the dwarves aswell well before 7.

Can you get a Boma adr for another night?

We did a character breakfast then a qs meal before the party and it worked well.

I did Tonys town square before the MNSSHP, I did it even though everyone was saying it wasn't that great there, well the food wasn't a 5 star restaurant bbut it wasn't bad and it made the whole night go smooth and not rushed, would I do it that way again, YES, no need to get stressed out, I would pick Boma for another night and stay closer to the MK. Have fun

I wouldn't...You can get into the Mk at 4pm with just a party ticket.I would either have a CS meal in the park or make an adr for a TS meal for around 415pm and be ready to roll for when the festivities start at 7pm

I agree. You would be wasting a lot of party time. We are always there at 4:00pm waiting to get in. You can do a lot in 3 hours, so that at 7:00, you can do all party things.

I would change it....wouldn't count on getting into Boma early...it doesn't serve lunch, so is not open before the dinner seatings begin. Which last time I booked it, Boma starts dinner at 5:00.

You probably would get out of there by 6:30 if seated close to your ADR time, but they sometimes get backed up right away since it takes time to check everyone in & start seating, then you get lines at the buffet since all those first-seatings head up at the same time.

The bigger issue would be getting a bus from AKL to MK, and then getting to the park before 7:00...if you're getting there close to 7, you will be joining long lines of party-goers to get in. If you get to MK much earlier...like 4 or 4:30, you can get in, get your party wristband & treat bag and then do the rides or whatever until party starts...then you're already in there without having to wait in a line at party start time.

My "2 cents" would be to arrive at MK for party between 4 & 5 and eat counter service for 2 reasons.........1. Don't miss party time and 2. save Boma for a time when you can relax and enjoy it without being rushed to get to MNSSHP!

I would change it as well. If you didn't want to eat in MK, you could book a ressie for a resort that is on the monorail. Personally, the party doesn't really get going till around 7pm. Unless you are wanting to meet characters you would be fine to book a meal at one of the monorail resorts for easier transportation to MK and arrive at a later time (6pm).
When we went to MNSSHP they were still getting people out that didn't have tickets to the party at 8pm. Once everyone was cleared out, we had a great time riding rides and collecting candy. My kids didn't care for standing in line to meet characters they just wanted to ride without waiting in a long line. That and the parade was their favorite part of the evening.

I suspect we will eat so much candy that I will feel sick at the end of the evening

We always eat a late lunch at WCC at Wilderness Lodge before heading to the party at 4:00.

Good choice!! We went to MNSSHP this past October and had such a great time!! Because you have to pay extra to get the tickets, it is definitely worth it to get there as early as you can to take full advantage of the party

We ate counter service because we didn't want to take up a lot of time eating. Another suggestion: You could always eat a big TS meal for lunch at where ever you will be during the day, so that you won't really be hungry for dinner until later and then you can just grab a snack (or eat all the yummy candy!).
