boma, ohanas or Kona cafe? For food quality

Boma is a buffet so you will have the most choice there. When we ate there we liked it. Do you like African style foods? We live in New Hampshire so for us it was a nice type of food that we can't really get at home.

Kona is nice as well. The menu is somewhat limited but what they do make they make well. I'm a big fan of their steaks. Not really a fan of any of their desserts. The free bread they serve before the meal is AMAZING though! It's a Hawaiian type that I can't remember but its delicious.

'Ohana is my favorite of the three. It's served family style with lots of different choices. The appetizers are good but the main course meats they bring around are delicious. I didn't try the seafood (shrimp i think?) but I loved the beef and pork. The bread pudding for dessert is delicious as well. I ate an entire "family size" one myself and I weigh just 145 pounds and am 6'1"!

You really can't go wrong with any of the three. I would recommend 'Ohana though. Then Kona second and Boma third.

Breakfast all three...dinner, well none of them

Really? I've eaten twice at 'Ohanas for breakfast and will never do it again. It is above and beyond the worst breakfast available on the monorail. Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare are all much better.

Ohana for dinner is our pick. We have not had any bad food here.

Service has been hit or miss (thank goodness the recent trip was good).

But as far as the food, it is one of the better options in my opinion. If you like their menu.

The only thing I would advise is with the sirlion skewers, they are always served well done which is too done for me. So I tell the server ahead of time to bring rare/med rare and they do.
Many people don't know they can ask for a different doneness to the meat.

Definitely Ohana. We had a bad experience with Boma (I have a deathly nut allergy and the chef was very rude- which is VERY unlike Disney Chefs). Kona was just mediocre for us. The portions were extremely small and the food was no better than a chain restaurant. Ohana, however, is a cool experience. The atmosphere is great- really makes you feel the Polynesian theme. The food is pretty good too, all pit-fired meats and polynesian sides. Definitely worth trying at least once!

We love food with an Asian flair. Kona was for us the best of the three with respect to quality of food. We ate there for the first time on our last trip. My wife immediately said, we need to eat here every year.

Ohana is easily the most fun if you have kids. Our kids love the place, and we love taking them there.

I wanted to love Kona because the menu sounded good and DIS members always seem to recommend it, but I really didn't.

I like Boma for its unique foods...if you are fairly adventurous, go there.

Ohana is fen and the bread pudding is wonderful. The other food was good...but I wouldn't say spectacular.

I'd say Ohana or Boma depending on how adventurous you feel.

If you are looking for good quality I would puck Kona. Boma us a buffet and Ohana is AYCE, I think the food quality at buffet type places is lesser than non buffets. But we've ate at Boma and I would say it's one of the better buffets at WDW.

ok, I think we will rule out Boma, as for kona cafe I looked at the pictures ad the restaurant just looks so plain. im wondering though if we should cancel mama melrose and go to kona instead.
keeping ohana for sure!

I like the food at Boma but it is certainly an individual choice.

Ohana is a great place to eat, both for the food and the overall atmosphere/experience.

If it's a choice between Mama Melrose and Kona, and the deciding factor is the quality of the food, absolutely go for Kona. I'd use MM only if I needed an F! package and only wanted to spend 1 TS credit rather than 2 at HBD.

'Ohana (dinner) would be our least favorite of the three. The atmosphere is great, the food OK, but it wasn't stellar. Dried up meat on a stick, in my opinion!

Boma (dinner) is one we eat at EVERY trip and we've been there I think 4x for dinner and 1x for breakfast. If you have a flavor for trying new things, I highly recommend it. If you and your party are picky, don't do it.

Kona (dinner) is another one of our favorites and I think we've been there 4x. We were just there last month. Have never been disappointed there. It's kind of a best kept secret because people are always clamoring to 'Ohana. We walk right up to Kona, check in, and get seated. We walk through the SEA of people next door who are waiting for their table at 'Ohana. The food at Kona is a mix of Asian/Polynesian. Not a ton of choices, but all they have are high quality.
