Boma & O'hana Breakfasts - getting there? Worth it?

Trying to plan our last ADRs, for our last full day (will be at MK) and the next 3/4 day when we leave (will probably just relax and go to Downtown Disney for a late lunch).

We have an ADR at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast that day at MK, but just realized it's not Cinderella and the stepmother/sisters, and my kiddos probably won't be that interested in Mary Poppins and Alice LOL. We also have an ADR for that last departure day for O'hana's breakfast.

So... I am really wanting to change 1900 Park Fare to something else, unfortunately no good times at Crystal Palace are available (plus we're eating dinner there another day), Chef Mickey's is booked and Cinderella's RT is booked.

I was thinking we could do O'hana that MK day, like an 8am ADR - so we would take a bus (from POFQ) to MK, then catch the monorail to the Poly, then back to the MK - how much time do you think we'd need for that?

And then I thought we could do Boma for breakfast that last departure day, as we'd all love to see the AKL and that might be where we stay on our next trip, and the reviews for Boma's breakfast seem to be really great.

So are those two buffets worth the travel? How would we work getting to the AKL from POFQ? Bus to AK and then bus to AKL? Then we could just head over to DD from there, right?

Thanks! :)

They are both definitely worth it, IMO.

For Ohana, I would say to allow an hour just be safe. If you end up waiting for a bus for 20 minutes, then it will take 15 minutes or so to actually GET to MK, then another 10 minutes or so for the Monorail.... That's already about a 45 minute trek and Ohana is NOTORIOUSLY slow for check-ins. It's not a STRESSFUL journey, but you know how time just magically escapes you when you're in Disney!

As for breakfast at Boma, it's DEFINITELY worth going, but moreso if you have your own car. We have tried using Disney buses to get there on two occassions and it is really annoying. The bus service FROM the resorts in the morning is great so we would take a bus from our resort, to whichever park a bus showed up for first...but then getting a bus from the park back to AKL took forever. Both times we had to have a CM call the dispatcher and request a bus for us, after we already waited more than 20 minutes. If we had our own mode of transportation we would go more often but we rely on the bus system so we've sadly stopped making the journey over there.

We went only to the OHana breakfast last year with our boys 5 and 3. It was the favorite part of their trip (well, besides Dumbo and the Buzzlightyear ride). When I asked them just last week what the look forward to most if they ever get to go back (we have a suprise trip planned in APril) they said the Mickey waffles and meeting Stitch! Breakfast was very yummy, but meeting the characters for them was priceless.

We are two adults and did the Ohana breakfast on our last day. It's not as bad of a trip as Boma would be. We found the monorail to be really frequent that time of the morning. However, we weren't impressed with the breakfast. It's all you can eat, but very limited selection - very basic eggs, bacon, etc. We joked that had we not been on DDP, we would have paid $50+ for bacon and eggs. You're definitely paying for the characters there. We decided that when doing TS breakfast, we'll go with buffets from now on because we've found they have more of a selection.

First, the Mad Hatter at 1900 PF is usually a riot, so you may want to consider keeping the ADR. Just a thought.

As far as Ohana & Boma go, we haven't eaten breakfast at Ohana. It's not really that hard to get to though. I wouldn't worry about the transportation there. Boma, OTOH, isn't easy at all to get to, without a car. I personally didn't feel the breakfast was worth the commute. To be fair, it would have to be the best breakfast of my life for me to think it was worth the hassle of getting there on WDW transportation, especially early in the morning. If you decide to give it a try, you may want to consider taking a cab to AKL. From AKL, taking the bus to DTD wouldn't be a problem.
