I was NOT at all impressed with Tusker House. For our next trip I am trying to decide between Yak & Yeti or Boma. Thoughts?

Boma was one of my favorite restaurants, until our last trip. The food was mediocre, the service was horrible, and the manager was not interested at all. I was so disappointed.

I am sorry to hear your experience, and I hope it was an anomaly. I have eaten dinner at Boma four or five times, most recently in March 2009, and it has consistently been one of my favorite Disney restaurants.

To the original poster, I would not let your opinion of Tusker House dissuade you from trying Boma. Though the offerings are somewhat similar, Boma is a superior establishment. I liked Yak & Yeti when I tried it with my family a year or two ago, but I would choose Boma given the chance.

Good luck!

Rule of thumb: Resort restaurants are better than park restaurants. Epcot WS may be the exceptions.:earsboy:

I have not eaten at TH, but I ate at Boma for the 1st time in September and it became one of my very favorite restaurants! The selection was excellant and everything was so good. We are going back in Feb on the 1st night of our trip. I can't wait!

I've eaten at almost every restaraunt on the park (perks of being family member to CMs and a dining club member) and Boma blew me away when I ate there the first time. We make a point to eat there everytime we go now. It's hands-down my favorite buffet at WDW.

Couldn't agree more. Although there are other good buffets we have tended to reduce our buffets over the years because my wife is not really a buffet fan. Boma, however, is the exception and even she wouldn't want to give this one up.

It really depends on whether you want a buffet or ala carte. We've been to both and the variety at Boma is amazing. You can try different foods and go back and get seconds of your favorites. At Yak & Yeti, you basically order an appetizer, entree, and dessert, so you don't get to try all the differenet and interesting items at Boma. We liked both for different reasons. And we definitely liked Boma much better than Tusker House.

What didn't you like about TH? Was it the atmosphere - the food - the different food or the regular food? Knowing what you didn't like would help us to give you better advice. I personally don't like dinner at Boma - they use a spice I don't care for in many of their dishes - or rather it doesn't really agree with me, but many people really love the foods at Boma. Now breakfast for me is another story - its awesome

Thanks for the good info. We are planning on going to Boma during our April adventure.

Holly:)

We like Tusker House so saying that we like Boma is probably not going to help much.

We do not care for Yak n Yeti at all so I'd definitely pick Boma over that one.

We ate there September 2009. My ds (8) and I were very disappointed. Boma was both of our favorite restaurant.

I was not impressed with Boma. It was so disappointing. Everyone here raves about it but what a let down.
The food wasn't "blow me away good", wasn't horrible but just "eh". It was one of the slowest meals we had that vacation and we don't dawdle. We are usually in and out in an hour no matter buffet or ala cart place. It was 2 hours!!! I was in a panic, we had planned an early dinner and then a relaxing swim and to DTD....needless to say we took a late swim and no DTD, dinner took too long.

I haven't eaten at Y&Y or TH, so I can't comment.
