I didn't think so... I think it was just the "replacement Penny" since Penny left the show. You know, sort of like the 2nd Darrin on Bewitched. Any similarities were strictly coincidental (or maybe they were because they already had a computer model made.)

When they are sneaking into the studio, the ar that pulls up to the guard gate, I SWEAR he says "I'm here to see Joel McHale"
So I'm wondering if it was a shout out to get on The Soup, or if I'm nuts.

I immediately thought that she was designed to closely resemble Lindsay Lohan back when she worked for Disney on The Parent Trap. Honestly, that makes a lot more sense to me than having her design be purposely close to the Winnie the Pooh girl.

Hmmmmm, I didn't think she looked all that much like Darby.

I loved the movie. The storyline pretty much flew right over my kids' heads but they still loved it. Great movie!! Liked it much better than Walle.

I think he says "I'm here to see Joe Matteo", who is one of the Disney artists listed in the credits.

I don't think it looks like Darby at all - I think they were just trying to make the new Penny different enough from the old one. DD5 was completely confused, though!

He does in fact say that. I thought I was crazy too, until DSis9 said "Joel McHale's in this movie? Cool!" We are Soupites.
