I booked a ressie at BOG at 180 days for dinner for 8. It was a birthday meal and we were VERY excited to secure the spot. After a couple months, our dining party grew smaller as a few folks had to cancel and I tried diligently over the following months to find a ressie for a smaller table. No dice. So we showed up to our 8 person ressie and told them at the podium. They were very gracious about accomodating our smaller party.
We waited about 15-20 minutes and then went back to our table. This was 7pm on a Saturday evening, on Labor Day weekend and the park was packed. It was also open until 2am, so I'm sure that contributed to the evening crowds.
Imagine my surprise when we were taken to our table in a half-empty restaurant! No wonder why no one can get a reservation. The main dining room was about 75-80% full, the west wing had about 3 tables of people and the other room maybe 5. When I asked the server, his response is that they only really use those rooms during CS meals. How does that make any sense? What am I missing here?
