BOG vs Crystal Palace

I do want something really special for my 6 and 8 year old. I tried to reserve BOG yesterdays when the link was sent but it says no availability. I'm going to try again today. But I already booked lunch for Crystal palace. Honestly the menu at BOG doesn't look awesome- but everyone apparently loves it... so why and would you pick one versus the other? I chose Crystal Palace since it was a character meal.

We've done dinner at BOG and breakfast at CP. We loved the ambiance of BOG, but not the food as much. The food at CP was wonderful and the character interaction was really good.

Crystal palace breakfast is always a must do for us. Both my kids are huge tigger fans plus I really like their breakfast buffet. We haven't eaten at bog yet. We do have a reservation there for dinner during our trip in April. I am looking forward to eating there but I think it might be 1 of those restaurants that is a 1 time thing for our family just to say we did it.

We really like the breakfast at CP. I can't speak to lunch or dinner since I've never done either, and I typically only like breakfast buffets.

We liked BOG for the atmosphere, and the food was great. But, for kids, they might really love having a character meal.

Agreed. My fiance and I really liked dinner. I think when we go back we will try to do lunch. Since my upcoming trip is with my mom and she's never been, we're definitely trying to get in there. While I loved the food, I thought it was an "every once in awhile for dinner" restaurant, not a "must do dinner here every time" type of thing.

We don't have kids, but we are big kids at heart!

I have to agree the ambiance is striking and feels like you're in the movie :) I don't really care for the menu, DH said it was fine. But we always love the food at CP and the character interaction has always been good to us.
You can get the same ambiance for BoG with Lunch and for cheaper than dinner at BoG. Perhaps do both?

It's really hard to choose between these two!

While I've never had lunch at Crystal Palace, I've had breakfast there every time I go to WDW and the food is consistently one of the best meals on the trip. The character interaction is pretty great as well. Be Our Guest blew me away both times I ate there this past trip (once for dinner and once for lunch). The food is PHENOMENAL (especially the turkey sandwich!) and the experience of sitting in that castle simply can't be beat.

For your children, I would say to keep Crystal Palace- while the food is stellar at BoG, the options might scare younger kids away if they're picky eaters. Crystal Palace has your typical mac and cheese and nuggets, and if they like one thing at the buffet, they can fill up on it- plus, they'll love the characters :)

I hope your vacation is wonderful!!
