Hi everyone, we have never been to BOG before. Would you choose lunch or dinner? Do the characters actually come out there at any time? Any advice would be appreciated!
I have only been for lunch... three times total. The lunch menu appeals more to my kids. It is always a bit crowded, though, and there are no characters at lunch. If that matters and you like the dinner menu, then go for dinner!
Hi everyone, we have never been to BOG before.
1. Would you choose lunch or dinner?
2. Do the characters actually come out there at any time?
3. Any advice would be appreciated!
1. Lunch and dinner are very different. Lunch is a counter service meal, but even so, you have to make a reservation. Dinner is a table service restaurant.
2. Disney does not describe BOG as a character meal because a character meal includes several characters who circulate through the dining room and visit all the tables. At BOG at dinner the Beast will walk through the dining room on his way to the library, but he will not stop at tables. He will be in the library where you can have a meet and greet opportunity after you finish dining. He only appears at dinner and he is the only character at BOG.
3. If you want to meet the Beast or have an alcoholic beverage, you will have to book dinner because neither are available at breakfast or lunch. BOG is a counter service at breakfast and lunch, and table service at dinner, but all three meals require reservations. The menus for lunch and dinner are very different so you can check the Disney dining website or allears for the menus to help you decide which you would prefer.
We have had lunch and dinner there and enjoyed both, but they are very different experiences so it really depends on whether you prefer counter service or table service, the menu, meeting the Beast and alcohol with your meal.
We have enjoyed lunch there several times. We really like the French Dip and all of the cupcakes. There are no characters, but it is really neat to be able to check out the castle. We have had dinner there three times and the food is fine, but not outstanding. If I had to choose just one experience it would be lunch.
We have only had dinner there, but we loved it! The food was really good. If you want to see the Beast he is only there at dinner for a meet and greet after your meal.
