I have only done lunch there and it was before FP for lunch. Just trying to figure out how it works. Also, can you request where you sit? I would LOVE to sit in the rose room but we have a group of 8 so I know it might be hard.

You have a waiter and order at the table. You could always request a certain room but you might not be likely to get it since this is a very popular and busy restaurant.

We have eaten dinner at BOG twice and have purposely booked for 4pm so we are one of the first to be seated and have managed to request and receive a table in the west wing, our preferred seating area. I'm not sure how successful you would be once the restaurant is full, I guess as one table becomes free the next party would be seated there, regardless of where it's situated. We have a booking at 4.05pm in December but hopefully we'll still get to sit in the west wing again.

Yeah, this is probably accurate. However, you may be able to agree to wait and let others go ahead of you for a spot there, but with 8 you may be waiting well past your reservation time.

You can request a room, you may have to wait an few extra minutes. We opted to wait for the Beast room, it was only 10 minutes or so. I like that room the best, it quiet and relaxing.
