BOG childrens lunch- can we swap the drink for soup? Not an option on preorder

We preordered today for lunch and I ordered DD the grilled cheese lunch. On the same screen, it asked which type of beverage she wanted. It did not give me the option to just not order a drink for her. For DH and me, I had no problem NOT ordering drinks and getting soup and cupcake for us both. For DD, I HAD to choose a drink....thoughts? experiences??

I don't think you can with children's meals, they are pretty specific.

Children's meals are a pre-packaged sort of deal. It comes with an entree, usually two sides (which may or may not be swappable) and a beverage. They don't get a true dessert or full beverage, so you can't swap them for adult sized items.

We are on the dining plan and are using QS credits...I should have said that lol! I think that every meal includes a drink and a dessert?

My experience with BOG is that regardless of dining plan or not the children's meals didn't come with dessert, that may have changed.

Children's meals do not typically follow the swap rules adult meals do, regardless of dining plan. Children's meals are a package price for X food

you should be able to order an adult meal for your child however. if anything appeals. and then swap.

seriously??? bc she would LOVE the croque monsieur!! I didn't realize you can do this!! that would be amazing!! WIll they give me a hard time at the register??

Nope. QS credits are interchangeable. They do not split them between adult and child, they are just "QS credits". I'm not sure if there is an issue preordering this way but at any QS locations you can just order adult QS meals.

I knew the DxDDP credits were interchangeable but not QS. She would much rather have the QM sandwich and a cupcake. I just preordered online with no issue at all and just plan on saying 3 QS credits! I hope I wont have a problem! Thanks for chiming in, or else I would've never known!

You won't. TS credits on regular DDP are not interchangeable. if you look at your receipt it will tell you how many kid and how many adult credits are left. You can't use a kid credit to order an adult meal. QS and snack credits are all pooled together. they will deduct 3 whether they are adult, kid or some combo.

Yes, do this - order an adult meal! For CS it's the same credit, so kids can get adult meals! Then you can swap however you want.

My DD (17 so "adult") and I swapped soups for desserts, she got the croque monsieur and I got the roast beef sandwich. Everything was delicious, but I'm warning you, it was a lot of food for lunch. We each left half our sandwich (but loved the soup, especially the French Onion soup). Next time, we're using one credit and getting the roast beef sandwich and 2 French Onion Soups. We prefer water to drink. I know we'll be full! So be warned if you're not a big eater, it can be a lot of food! We thought it was very good!
