I know some of you really love Body Glide. I have a few questions for you. Will it work for between my thighs to prevent chaffing(SP?)? It is sticky feeling? If it gets on my clothes, does it stain? Is there anything else besides bodyglide I can use?

Thank you

Hi... my sons swear by Body Glide on the beach when they skim board, their swimsuits chafe something awful! We read about it here years ago and have been using it faithfully ever since. I haven't personally used it but I'll try to help you. I just put it on my hand. You can feel something's there but it's not really a sticky feeling. You could definitely use it on your thighs to preveng chafing. It's clear, I've never seen it stain clothing. The main ingredient is 1% zinc oxide. You could search the web for other brands but we've never come across anything else comperable. Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

We used it on our feet when we went in September. Although we all wore crocs I was still paranoid about getting "hot spots". It worked great and doesn't stain your clothes. One strange side effect though that I noticed was that it took my toenail polish off! I guess it has something in it that breaks down the polish if you get it on your toes (which is hard not to do when you are applying it to your feet). We are going back again this September and I plan on using it again, but I'm bringin along my polish for touch-ups this time! :thumbsup2

Body Glide comes in a stick like deodorant and has a very similar feel when you put it on. I use it on my thighs to prevent chafing and it also helps prevent shorts creeping up when you walk. There is also a brand called Sportsslick that comes in a tube. It is very similar but is easier for carrying around with you. I use that on my feet to prevent blisters.

I found that a regular stick of deoderant works very well also. I bought a "dedicated stick" for that particular purpose :lmao: It was less expensive.

I used a name-brand spray-on anti-perspirant liberally :flower3: on my thighs and feet - anywhere that I thought would chafe - and it worked great in September.

Where do you find the Body Glide? I looked at wal mart and couldn't find it.
I wasn't sure what dept. it was in.:confused3

Wal-Mart doesn't carry it. In fact, I don't think many places do. I ended up buying mine at a specialty running store. Others on the boards purchased theirs through drugstore.com, but I waited too long. Hope that helps. :thumbsup2

We also buy ours at a specialty shoe store. Great suggestions about using deoderant, I'll definitely keep that in mind! :thumbsup2

I may have to look into getting some, or trying the deodorant trick.

We couldn't find body glide before our trip, so we used Monistat anitchaffing cream. It's specifically made for between the thighs. It doesn't stain and it worked really well for both dh and I last September. We found it at Wal-Mart.

It absolutely does. I use it everytime we travel to the World. Works great for me. I put it on every morning before going out the door.
