Has anybody done this port adventure in Grand Cayman? DCL website says it is for all ages and includes swimming with turtles.
Anybody have any reviews/opinions?

Thanks,

We just did this excursion last week with a 3 year old. It was okay. They have a pool you can watch the large turtles swim in and then you get to hold a smaller turtle (for a picture). They also have a nice swimming pool with slide we spent most of the day in. They have a small beach and snorkeling area (with fish and turtles) we didn't try since our 3 year old can't snorkel. The lunch buffet was okay (bbq chicken, some kid of fish, plantains, and mac and cheese pasta). It was scheduled for most of the day - we wished it had been about an hour shorter.

We really enjoyed. The snorkeling was a lot of fun and our 2 year old could float with us in the lagoon.

We did it last year with 2 kids who were 7 & 5. The kids loved seeing the turtles and were able to stand in a small, shallow tank and hold them. For the snorkeling, you have to be a fairly decent swimmer because the water is pretty deep in certain areas. Naturally, those are the areas where the turtles were. :) My kids enjoyed the pool because it had a waterfall and water slide. We were able to get kids' meals for the kids at the bar in lieu of the buffet, too. For the amount of time we were there, we kept busy and the kids really enjoyed it.

We did this last year with our 2 y.o. However, we bought tickets directly from the place (you can also purchase online) and took a cab from the port. It was cheaper than the excursion price and we didn't want to commit to plans in advance because the weather was looking iffy. FYI, you can buy tickets for the whole park including the pool and snorkeling, or just the turtles. We enjoyed the turtles, but it was pretty limited. We were there barely an hour. Would rather have gone to the beach for sand/surf.

We are planning on doing the exact same thing. Did you have any problem getting a cab from the park back to the port?

We LOVED it. You have to wear a life jacket when snorkeling, so we didn't have to worry about the kids getting tired swimming and sinking. Loved swimming with the turtles and right up to the edge of the shark tank. We spent nearly the entire afternoon at the snorkeling tank (after the morning tour of the turtle farm and lunch).

No we didnt. Right across the street is the Dolphin show, which you can watch for free (you have to pay to participate and swim with the dolphins). We grabbed a cab that was loading from there.

Thank you very much!

We have two 15 year old girls in our group and I'm trying to decide if they would like this. Enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts.

My kids were about 6 and 8 and it was one of their favorite things we did. They really enjoyed the turtle tanks, just remember to go back later in the day after all of the other cruise tours have left. A lot of tours stop there for a short time to see the turtles in the holding tanks and hold them and they get a little crowded. We went back after lunch and each of our kids had a tank to themselves. The bird aviary was really good, got some great pics of the kids feeding all of the birds and them landing on their arms. They also liked seeing all of the iguanas that just roam around. My kids are big animal lovers and it was perfect for them. They are older now, and I don't know if they would enjoy it as much now, but at the time, they loved it. The snorkeling was OK. A few turtles, not a lot of fish, but they do have a section that has Plexiglas wall that separates the snorkeling area from the shark tank so you can swim up to the shark tank. My son really liked that.

I'm going to have my daughter and her friend look at this weekend to see what they think. I think they would like it, but want to check.

Yea! I think we are going to do this. Does anyone that booked privately remember how much the lunch was?

Now I just need to decide if we want to pay when we get there or buy tickets ahead of time. It's 20% savings to buy online (I think), but no refunds if it was pouring rain that day and we didn't go..... Decisions, decisions.
