Boats to MK

Hi everyone. I'm planning on staying at the Wilderness Lodge next year but as I will be using an ECV for my trip I am unsure what the boat transportation to the MK is like. Are all the launches accessible? I know the small water taxis aren't but what is the service like on the larger boats? Are these boats regular like the busses are? Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe the larger boats from WL to MK are ECV accessible the majority of the time. If the water levels are low enough it might not be, but most of the time that isn't a problem.

it is doable on the larger boats but it can be tricky getting around the corner to where you park your ECV. you will not be able to be with rest of party if others with you. you will be on same boat just not sitting together. if more than one ECV on boat, the ECVs can block seating in bow of boat.

There are two types of boats that service the WL to MK route. One is the smaller type of launches that are not ECV accessible. But they do have the larger boats (I think they are referred to as cruisers) which are ECV accessible. They generally alternate the two so if the first boat to arrive is the smaller launch, you will have to wait for the next boat. The wait time between boats is usually less than 15 minutes.

The Friendship "cruisers" are accessible and travel MK-WL-FW.
. . . they use a ramp from the dock
. . . when water levels are low, they are inaccessible
. . . if inaccessible, you need to take the bus (in front of VWL)

BAY LAKE & SEVEN SEAS LAGOON RESORT BOATS to/from WL-FW-CR-MK:

The WL is now serviced by 2 Motor Cruisers (RED FLAG) begin running
each day at 0830-hrs (0730 for EMH) and terminate operations about
one hour after the MK closes. RED FLAG boats run only between MK-WL.

FW is now serviced by 1 motor cruiser and 1 motor launch (GREEN FLAG)
running each day from 0830-hrs (0730 for EMH) until about 1 hour after
the MK closes. These boats run only between the MK and the FW.

The 2 Motor Launches (BLUE FLAG) on Bay Lake serving the CR, WL and
the FW begin service at 0645-hrs daily. Both run clockwise until 1500-hrs
and then reverse direction at 1500-hrs. Launches run until 2330-hrs.

If you want to go to the GF/Poly from the WL, CR or FW by boat, you will
have to go to the MK and then get the Gold flag launch. In addition, there
is no boat that goes directly from the CR to the MK, GF or Poly. Additional
boats may be added to the Gold, Green, Red and Blue routes during periods
of exceptionally high demand, like at heavy MK closings, to alleviate guest
lines at the docks.

Additionally for all motor launches, strollers must be folded prior to
boarding and ECVs cannot be accommodated on motor launches under
any circumstances. Crusiers accomodate ECV's if water is high enough.

So if I want to go from MK to FW for Hoop De Doo with a wheelchair, I should look for a green "cruiser"? Thinking of seeing the 8:30 show on a party night when the MK closes at 7pm. Will the boat still be running to return us to MK?

1) You don't need to look hard for the bow flag.
2) Just look for the BIG/LONG boat, not the short/small ones.
3) I would give, myself one-hour prior to the showtime
. . . time to wait for next boat
. . . cruising time to FW
. . . time to get to Pioneer Hall
4) As for schedules, check with the Concierge
. . . if the Friendship Boats stopped, you need to take the bus to FW
. . . for the return, you will probably need the bus
