The only experience I have with the boat at POR is my parents who used it on a very cold night after they had been to POR for a carriage ride. Not pleasant for them. How is the boat service to Downtown Disney from POR? Is it pretty convenient? How long does it take?

We haven't used it for for afew yrs, but we never had a real long wait for it, and it was pretty short ride, maybe 15 mins? It was a very pleasant ride.

We love the boat ride. It takes about 15 minutes and is a very enjoyable ride. It isn't necessarily any quicker than taking a bus, but it's a nice break from the bus.

Having the boat is one of the reasons we decided to go back to POR/POFQ.

Thanks. Does anyone know how late it runs? If we go to Pleasure Island does it run that late?

There is also a boat that runs from OKW-SSR-Downtown Disney. We were at OKW last week and the boat begins running at 11:00 a.m. and I believe it stopped at 4:00 p.m., but I know it runs longer hours in the summer months. It docks at the same place as the POR boat and though the hours themselves are not posted, it seems to run roughly on the half-hour. It is a nice ride and a change from using the buses all the time.

You must be getting your am & pm mixed up. There is no way that the boat stops at 4pm unless there is some special sort of circumstances (ie: very bad weather). Most people do not start going to DTD until later in the evening. I had always thought it stopped around midnight. I could be wrong on that, but I know it is much later than 4pm

We love the boat to DTD there is usually a very little wait and it isn't very busy. I think that the last boat leaves DTD at 11:00 on weekdays and 11:30 on weekends. There is a boat from Pleasure Island and the West Side that leaves later. We don't go to Pleasure Island often so I can't remember the times.

We stayed at POR last March. The :boat: ride was very convenient. I don't remember what time it let POR in the morning but I know that it left DTD on its last trip at 11pm. The ride was about 15 to 20 minutes long. It was very pleasant with the Captain doing a narrative about the trip down the river. We loved it as did our elderly parents. The kids were given a 'gold' coin when we reached DTD as a souvenier. I remember them saying that if the weather was bad the boat would not run. I'm sure you'll enjoy it

Can you take strollers on the boat from POR to DTD without folding them up?

BTW, I asked this same question on another thread, but thought I'd post it here, too, since so many of you have ridden this boat.

TIA,

BettyCv

You can take strollers as long as it's not crowded. The seats on the boat are bench seats. The kind you sit on and slide over. If you sat towards the front I'm sure you'd be OK. The boat isn't usually too full during the day. It's about 4pm when people are heading to DTD for dinner that the lines start to form. :sunny:

Thanks guys, for the stroller info. We'll have a double and single, and it would be a lot easier not to fold them, especially with all the stuff we lug around in the baskets.
