We are planning a June Disney trip, a split ressie between BCV and OKW. Never stayed at either resort. We are trying to plan this trip to enjoy the resorts and stay away from the parks (ok-maybe 2 days at parks). Anyway, I would like to rent a boat at one of the marinas. We are a family of 4. What type of boats? Rental prices? Where can you take the boats? Who has done this? Is it worth it? Thanks-Brad
We are also going to try a water park. Which one???

OKW is just around the corner from Typhoon Lagoon, which is my favorite because of the nice wave pool. Blizzard Beach has a much shorter wave pool that just bobs. TL has great big waves every couple of minutes.

You can get Arctic Dots at TL (not sure if you can get them at BB) which are just like Dippin Dots (my son and I LOVE these).

If you rent a boat at OKW, you can go all the way down to DTD (but you can't park the boat). At BCV, you can go from the Epcot Bridge (from BWV) to Disney Studios.

I would go over to WL, Cont or Poly to rent boats - we did it a few years ago when you could get a length of stay package and it became one of my favorite "rides" We did the water mice and they are much speedier there. You can go all over Bay Lake and we really had a wonderful time. We were staying at the BCV at the time. We did the pontoon boat one year when we were at PORFQ. We took it to downtown Disney and back and it was a nice relaxing trip. You could always take along a lunch and have a picnic on the trip. I think DVC members get a discount but don't know any of the current prices or if they have the length of stay option available any longer. As someone else said you cannot park the boats anywhere except where you rented from.

Each water park has its own special things - TL has the water coaster and a couple of body slides, the shark reef and of course the wave pool. They have a children's play area for the younger children.

BB has more slides, a milder wave pool , an area for preteens as well as one for small children

Both have lazy rivers and a familly raft ride.

I agree, I've rented boats at BCV, you can't go very far or fast though, so I don't think it's worth it there.
Your better off going to one of the MK resorts, and you'll have all of Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake to explore and I think the little speed boats go a little faster but not much.
TL is my favorite water park, love the tropical atmosphere, but get there early if you want to get chairs at the prime spots.

I agree with everyone on both counts. We always rent the watermice from the GF. The area is so large to ride around.

We also prefer TL. We could spend all day in the wave pool, but also enjoy Crush 'n' Gusher and the shark reef. Don't miss the fabulous mini donuts!!
