I have heard that you can catch a boat from MGM to Epcot and figured this might be a nice relaxing way to travel over to Epcot for an evening.

Could someone please tell me where you can catch this boat from and how long it takes to get there?

Thanks :)

Hi Joh

Were you trying to hide from us LOL ;)

You walk out of MGM and follow the path around to the left to the boat dock to catch the friendship boat, It will then stop at the Swan/Dolphin, Y&B Club, Boardwalk then Epcot.

I would say it takes 30 mins or so..

It's not quick, but it's sooooooo nice to sit on the boat and relax!!

I agree that it's about a 30 minute ride. You can actually walk from the Studios to the Epcot International Gateway in less time than it takes the boat. The boat is slow, especially with all the stops. But it is a nice relaxing ride. It's a great ride in the dark with the boardwalk area and all the resorts lit up.
ps....there are a lot of great restaurants in the Epcot resort area. If you want to try some new restaurants check out the menus for Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club and Swan and Dolphin.

...the boats from MGM to Epcot. It's wonderful. Like already said here - it's a leisurely ride and you could walk it faster but sometimes you just need to slow a tad down at WDW and enjoy the ride! :)

Occasionally you get some of the better Captains piloting them. There is one called The Birdman who is training the birds at each of the docks - he puts on a great show.

And it gives you the option of checking out Broadwalk, Dolphin&Swan, BeachClub before heading to Epcot.

Oh and one other great thing - if you are really going to Epcot for the World Showcase - the boat ride drops you off at the International gateway which you enter right into the Worlds.

Definitely try and schedule this in.

What I have done when taking the boat form MGM to Epcot is to get off at either YC or BW, whichever it stops at first, and then walk the rest of the way to Epcot.

Wish I had known that last trip. I hopped to MGM from Epcot to catch the last Power Ranger appearance. (A "must" for DS6).
Don't do this if you are in a rush or trying to make a show. You feel like you are crawling. Stop. Go. Stop. Go. It was maddening for us.
I'm sure if you have the time it is great. I saw the resorts I wouldn't normally see (Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach, etc.)
