Has anyone noticed that the Boardwalk wireless is really slow? We checked in on Jan 11th and it was marginal, then over the weekend of Jan 17th & 18th it was basically unusable. Being an old IT guy, I figured that someone was doing system maintenance on the weekend.

This week it's still not good, so I called the Front Desk and then got transferred to a "help" desk. They informed me that it was never fast and only intended to allow the checking of email. The problem is that even that isn't working well.

Is anyone else seeing the same thing or is it just my imagination.

It has been a terrible problem in the past but your post is the first I've seen in a long time that the problem is back. I would push back on the help desk folks that it's so slow you cannot even check email.

IMHO, resort internet (not just at BW) is very slow in the morning and again in the evening. People are doing more than just "checking emails" during those times and it seems the system wasn't designed with that in mind.

The problem is that everyone in today's family has a Wi-Fi enabled device and they download and stream content and movies without thinking twice about it.

The pipe is only so big and with too many users, the flow is slowed to a trickle.

We were at the BWV right after Thanksgiving and had no problems with slow wi-fi in the room.

I agree with LisaS - it was awful in the past, but we haven't had any complaints for quite some time.

I strongly feel it is past time for Disney to do something about this.

This really looks like an interference problem rather than a loading issue though the load is substantial.

I have network monitors on my laptop (left over from before I retired) so I let them run a bit. About 8pm EST the network delays cleared and it started running much faster. Download speeds went from 1kbs to closer to 100kbs (actually usable) and web pages completed loading as they should.

The other bit of data is that I see signal levels considerably higher than I was able to measure this morning so it looks like there is channel interference during parts of the day. At any rate, this is a wireless designer's nightmare for sure.
