We are thinking about renting some DVC pts. Boardwalk Pts vs. Kest West Pts for 6 nights are BW 68 - KW 61. I'm thinking Boardwalk would be the better pick. Any thoughts!!!!

Its all your preference...

OKW has larger units..very nice..and you can take the boat to DTD.
BWV is walking distance to MGM and EPCOT.

Check out the DVC resorts on Allears..look in the left blue column toward the bottom for the DVC's..

Enjoy!! :cheer2:

When are you planning to visit?

Appears to me that you are planning on a standard view room at the BWV. If so, it may already be too late to rent points for that (assuming your trip is for 2006) - SV rooms book very quickly. During the lower point seasons, many owners book day by day as soon as the 11 month window opens.

If you want to stay at the BWV, best to plan on a Preferred View (Pool/Garden).

Best wishes -

How many people are in your party? The points you've quoted makes me think you want to stay in a studio, right?

If it's only 2 of you, I'd stay at the Boardwalk. That way you have a nice queen bed to sleep in plus a sitting area with a sofa if you want to watch T.V. from a comfortable spot instead having to always sit on a bed. :sunny:

If you have more than 2 people, then OKW maybe better because the studios there have 2 queen beds, so everyone would have a bed to sleep in (instead of a bed and a fold-out sofa bed, which is what you would have at the Boardwalk.) :)

We prefer BW because of the closeness to Epcot and MGM. If you prefer feeling like you're in the middle of the action, that's the place to go. OKW is very pretty with great views and balconies. It is more quiet and removed. Both are nice, but our personal preference is BWV.

We like both but we like OKW because if you drive you can park your car practically right outside your door-comes in handy when you forget a stuffed animal or pillow that your kid *has* to have before they fall asleep.

BWV are really great if you love EPCOT and get a kick of of just strolling in there in the morning, and strolling around at night people watching on the boardwalk.

BWV has more stuff to do within walking distance, OKW is the best for the minivan dependent (like us!)

Love BWV that's why I bought there. OKW is great point cost you cann't beat.

if you want alot more going on at the resort, then BWV is the place. OKW is bigger and quieter(if you want more peace and quiet), but a nice resort also, just not as much going on there.

I agree with what has been said. Both are nice resorts, OKW is bigger, BWV is close to the action.

I would agree with the info posted. We prefer OKW but BWV is our second favorite. I'd agree with Carol when she says not to count on a standard view. I am assuming you are looking at Choice season, maybe mid Dec. I don't see a time when BWV standard view would be 68 pts for 6 nights in a studio. Choice would be 66 for standard view and 83 for preferred view. What would be best for you depends on the makeup of your party, preferred parks to visits and whether you will have a car. I also sent you a PM.

If you're going to have a car, it's Old Key West hands down. A car is a serious liability at Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club and especially Boardwalk in my view.

I usually place a call to valet desk and our car is waiting for us at the resort entrance. In the summer, using the valet is nice because the cars interior heat has dissipated. It’s also great to use the valet during rainy weather.

We use the extra points for guaranteed BW View, its the best IMO. Our room below was in 2004. :thumbsup2

looks like CHOICE season for you BWV stardard st= 66pts OKW=61

IMO for the diff of 5 pts I'd stay at BWV if you can get the standard studio. If not it would be 83 pts preferred st BWV. OCT/NOV is F&WF so most rooms are going already this yr. Late DEC I don't know about.
