Hi all,

I am planning a girls trip (we are in our 40s and 50s, so the term girl is used loosely!) with my sister and possibly a couple of friends for August 2018 and we are considering staying in a deluxe resort. We love the Epcot area, so we are looking at the three Epcot resorts: Boardwalk, Beach Club and Yacht Club. Can you give me any pros or cons of these three resorts from your personal experience? I have looked at the resorts individually on many sites, but just want to get first hand experienced comparisons. We may use the pool some (it is August, after all), but have found with our previous August trips that we don't spend a lot of time there, so even though the Beach Club/Yacht Club pool is INCREDIBLE, it is not a deciding factor for us. Thanks in advance!

imo, any of these is comparable. Choose the one with the best price for your time period. If I had to pick a drawback, I would say that BC can have too many kids at any one time. Otherwise, they are pretty much equal.

I'm doing a girls trip next week. Picked the BC because it's the closest to Epcot due to the "secret" exit and because the theme seems the most fun!

? Staying there in October.

From the lobby, follow the signs to room 1501. There's a door right there that deposits you about 2-3 minutes from the International Gateway. Great to be able to stay inside for as long as possible in the rain/heat.

I've stayed at all 3 and here are my thoughts on each:

BWI - adorable. Love the nightlife that is right at the resort. Great food and a lot you can do right at the resort. I love the Bellevue Room at the end of the night for a cocktail. The clown pool was nice and the area was a decent size. The only downside was we were 'upgraded' to boardwalk view rooms and every morning the horn from the boats docking to take people to Epcot and HS woke us up. The other thing ( which may have changed since we stayed there was that there wasn't a sit down restaurant inside the resort itself for breakfast. Bellevue offered quick service but all other breakfast dining locations were on the Boardwalk.

YC - stately. Upscale and it feels it as soon as you walk in. We felt pampered from the moment we got there until we left. This resort is the furthest from the Epcot entrance so everything felt like a bit of a walk but for us it wasn't an issue. Great dining at the Yachtsman if you want to splurge and it's nice that BC and YC are connected. It gives you a lot of dining and drinking in the same spot.

The YC and the BC share the same pool - which IMO is the best pool I have ever been in! Sand bottom and when we went in Feb - not crowded at all.

BC - laid back. This one has it all out of the 3 ( again IMO ). Close to Epcot, great food, great views and again ( that fabulous pool! ) Lots of nooks and crannies to just read a book and chill if you want. Cape May is a great buffet for breakfast or dinner. I like the laid back feel of this resort BUT it's a short walk over to Boardwalk if I want to go dancing ( Atlantic Ballroom ) or listen to live music ( Jellyrolls ).

You really can't go wrong with any of them. Have a great trip!

I'm partial to The Swan myself. No Magical Express or Dining Plan there, but a great resort in every way.

The Beach Club will have tons of families and would not be my first choice for a girls only weekend. I agree with the person who described Yacht Club as stately. We stayed there with our kids and thought it was a little more orientated to adults that the BC. I haven't stayed at BWI but it looks very fun esp if you want to dance and drink. Have fun!

I'd pick YC because all rooms have full balcony or patio. And quieter. I like be BC too, but you run the chance of just a Juliette balcony. Even in August I like to sit outside in the morning with my coffee, and at night with a glass of wine! I also love the lazy river in SAB. We always take an afternoon pool break, to refresh in August.

I found getting to Epcot from YC only added 5 min to the walk. And YC is closer to boat dock to DHS. Either resort is just a walk away from the Boardwalk.

I love all these responses! I had not even considered Yacht Club until a couple of weeks ago when I kept reading about the balconies, lack of kids, etc. (Don't get me wrong, my sister and I love kids- we are both teachers) I don't think we can go wrong with any of these, but the Yacht club is looking more and more attractive to me!

I vote BWI over the other two. I prefer the theme and the intimate feel of the lobby and the resort in general. I really enjoyed the quiet pool there. Walk to EP is just a tad longer than from some rooms at BC, but better if you walk to HS.

We really like the EPCOT resorts! Walking to EPCOT is such a huge benefit, we walk there just about everyday.

YC: PROs
1-Quiet, a lovely quiet refuge from the hustle and bustle of the parks
2-Water view. We got a spectacular water view room. We could see the high Illuminations fireworks and the BW at night. Gorgeous!
3-Full Balcony and large patio's.
CONs
1-Rooms can be far from the lobby, food and pool area. Our room was so far from everything!
2-My kids call it the Shining hotel. The long hallways remind them of the Shining hotel and always say redrum, redrum.
3-Farther location from EPCOT than BW, still not that far from anything

BW: PROs
1-Fantastic location! Minutes to walk to EPCOT and close to DS
2-Nightlife, you are right in the middle of it all. We love Jellyrolls!
3-Great bus transporation.
4-Fantastic theme
CONs
1-Very few rooms have a BW view

We have not stayed at the BC as a full balcony or patio is important to us, BC has many rooms that have no balcony or a small Juliette balcony. That is a no go for us.

There are always positives and minuses about each hotel, but you really can't go wrong with any of the EPCOT hotels.

Thank you so much everyone! I know we can't go wrong no matter where we stay, just wanted to get some opinions :)

I'm doing a girls only trip later this year at BWI. Wouldn't have picked it had the kids been with us. No thanks clown pool. Big yes to the BC/YC pool.

We like YC over BC. Quieter. Closer to dock. Crew Cup. You can't go wrong with either though.

Every YC room does not have a full balcony. We were in a water view room on the CL floor with NO balcony.

We have stayed at all 3. Our personal favorite is BC because the lobby is lively with families, most likely due to Cape May character breakfast. The theme is "beachy," so laid back and fun-in-the-sun type of feel with a touch of elegance. Just perfect for us - a family of 4 with 2 kids. Having said that, my choice for your group is YC. I'm in love with the elegant nature and gold tones there. It would be great for just DH and me, though families of course do stay there (we stayed there when our kids were around age 2). The "feel" of YC is more adult-like than the BC. Otherwise, it's great having the shared pool and restaurants so close together.

As far as BWI, it might also fit your group well - I'd say it's a mix of adults and kids, leaning more towards older kids. There does tend to be a fair amount of boardwalk traffic at night and especially on weekends. Espn Club is fun, and there are a couple of clubs for the over 21 crowd. Not my favorite resort, but we've basically only stayed there twice and with our younger kids.

So EPCOT area is goal- agree- don't pass on Dolphin and Swan- they offer teacher discounts and will be slightly less "kiddie". All are great...between YC BC and BWI...Id go YC- slightly less kids- nicer lobbey an lounge- also get a great view of the BW at night
