Boardwalk Villas: Anyone See Recent Samanth Brown Disney Holiday show?

We're fans:) ; enjoy all the repeats of her older WDW shows - have most on tape (especially the WL one:thumbsup2 )

She did a series on Central/South America; convinced us to cruise to the area:goodvibes

The new program is badly edited imo, odd & short cut-aways to DL.

We think she had some cosmetic enchancements done . Hate to say it but the shirt with the large red flower she wore during MGM segment was distracting...although DH thought it was just swell.;)

Thanks for the link and the info. I just got back from the VWL last Saturday from a 10 day Christmas trip:santa: and boy do I miss it. I can't wait to see this show. I can wrap gifts in front of the 57" big screen and feel like I'm there. Thanks for all the great info.

The show was amazing. I have never been during the holidays, but after seeing her show I want to book for next year.

I loved her show, i want to say she said she was there the week before Thanksgiving, which as you can see on her show it is not too crowded at all. We were there the week of Thanksgiving this year and it was sooo crowded. We had a boardwalk view studio which was great, the resort wasn't crowded, but the parks were . If you book for next year i would recommend the week before Thanksgiving, we went that week in 2000 and it was the best time to go. When people on these boards say it will be crowded, shoulder to shoulder in the parks, believe them, i didn't until i found out for myself this Thanksgiving...lol

I saw it on Friday evening. I loved it when she walked into her 1BR villa at BWV! I enjoyed her interview with the CMs responsible for creating the ice castle, too.

For those who missed it the Travel Channel's website lists the following dates and times for "Disney Holiday Magic with Samantha Brown":

Dec 21, 7:00 pm
Dec 23, 11:00 am
Dec 24, 8:00 pm
Dec 24, 11:00 pm
Dec 25, 12:00 am
Dec 28, 8:00 pm
Dec 29, 12:00 am
Thanks! I just set the DVR to record tonight's episode. Your times must be Eastern because it's on at 7 pm central time.

I recorded it last night and I'm watching it now. :) We were just at BWV two weeks ago. My guess is she's in room 5013. We had 3003/5 and 3015/17 (two two bedrooms). She appears to be on the one bedroom that would have been between us, but on the top floor instead of floor 3.

I saw this the other day. I really loved the Fort Wilderness part. I haven't stayed in FW since I was 17 yo.(20 years ago) I now have this burning need to gather my entire family and have a FW Christmas. I even mentioned this idea to the entire family on Christmas day. Most we all for it. Now I can start planning!!!!

I also loved the castle all covered in lights...BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

I loved the show. I agree the editing was nuts... they kept going back and forth between Disneyland and WDW in a confused manner.

As far as the host, I really like Samantha. I wish they would use her specials on the tv in the rooms instead of Stacy. ( I swear there is something about the Stacy countdown that probably induces epileptic seizures in lab animals.... the camera work and the perky manic energy level.:scared1: )

It was great to see the villa. She nailed it when she described staying at the Boardwalk like always being at a party. That is exactly what it feels like to me. They can keep the castle suite, it is the Boardwalk for me.

I agree - it would be wonderful to have Samantha do the Disney "what to do" list that always plays on the hotel channels.....
Our family finds the current woman (Stacy?) to be painful to listen to - there is something to be said for a gracious/energy - which Samantha has, versus frantic/perkiness....hopefully what I just typed makes sense, lol! :happytv:

We were in WDW while she was there and were at AK the day they were filming.

We were staying @ SSR and DH went to get some coffee and said that he saw her in the food court talking to some other guests. He said she looked like she had been working out, no make up, etc. We assumed she was staying somewhere at SSR so we were confused when she said that she was staying @ BWV - maybe she did a split stay. Can't imagine why she would leave BWV just to go to SSR food court - I dunno:confused3 .

I told DH to go back with an autograph book and camera - but he wouldn't.

Does anyone know what room this was at the Boardwalk? I saw it too and that is exactly were we want to stay next time

That is in the "Crest o' the wave" section. We were just there and stayed 1 balcony over and 2 floors down. I just don't remember which direction it was from SBs room. Absolutely fantastic!!

We were in 3007, so Samanatha Brown had to have been in 5009 or 5005.

Anyway, the very best Boardwalk views are at the very end with odd numbers. Views are also supposed to be better on the higher floors. The very last room is X001. Our room in 3007 was 4 doors from the very end. We've also stayed in 2017 and that was a very nice view in the last red section before Crest of the Waves.

Beware, after walking the mandatory 6 - 10 miles each day...that hallway gets longer and longer each day.

(It was actually a test prop that was never turned into an attraction - Twilight Zone Boardwalk Hallway of Terror. Imagine, you are entering a hallway with no beginning and no end. There are doors to either side, with people enjoying their vacations with their families, but you cannot enter, you must continue your long journey, you must keep walking no matter how tired you are, no matter how much your feet hurt, you must continue, you turn the corner, just to see more of the endless hallway, will it end, will you ever reach your roomyou are stuck in the hallway zone,   )

OK, that was my attempt at humor.

But really, the only thing that would be scarier would be if the pool slide had a really sadistic looking clown that regurgitated kids through its mouth, or if there were chairs next to a fireplace made out of misbehaving children.

Wait a minute, what kind of place did I buy into? Next thing you know, there will be magicians and carnies on the boardwalk.

Anyway, you'll love it! We do!

Strangely, DW told me last night that DD#1 doesn't want to stay there because the pool is scary...

Too bad I'm thinking of adding on there...
