I have a Boardwalk view reserved at BWV in April for my first trip home(not counting the one day at BCV next week). I was wondering if its better to be close to the elevators, or far away? What are the view differences along the Boardwalk? Is the Village Green a preferrred water or preferred boardwalk? Or will I be happy no matter what(i.e. no bad BW views).

I would suggest asking for your BW view to be "not too far from the elevator". I don't remember what room we were in in 01, but it was over the general store. It wasn't too far from the elevator, but not close enough to hear everyone coming and going either. Being very far from the elevators, I think would be a drag after all the walking in the parks. Just MHO

By the way, the BW view is awesome, the 4th or 5th floor is great, quiet enough to be away from Boardwalk sounds at night,
yet in the center of it all , with real pretty views of the Crescent Lake area - have a great time!

We were in 5044, which was a one bedroom dedicated on the 5th floor. We were the first two windows on the left (if looking at the building) in the Yellow section of the building with the Boardwalk sign. It definately wasn't too far of a walk to get to the elevators, but I personally would have liked to be a little further down. We were right above Character Carnival and the noise even on the 5th floor became a joke. We constantly heard the horn from the Friendship boats when they left the dock, and the buzzer from one of the carnival games. It wasn't too bothersome to not sleep, but it did get annoying at times. I felt that if we were slightly farther down, we wouldn't have heard the buzzer and horn, but I could be wrong!! We'll see next year, since we again have a one bedroom BWV booked!!!

We had BWV this past July.

Third floor last room down the hallway, right over the old DVC selling center. Very far from the elevators. Our original room was over Big River Grill, but asked to move because we wanted ajoining rooms with friends that came two days after check-in.

It worked out to be OK.

We were right next to the "Attic". It's a room right over Jellyrolls with the balcony. The door was never locked and at night, when it got late and the kids were asleep, we were able to go out and sit on the huge balcony and watch the world go by. Plus, the ice machine was HUGE!!!

That worked out great because the Hurricane drinks were always fill of ice!!!

There was a back staircase that led down to the pathway leading to the community hall.

Although it was very far from the elevators...
