I splurged and took a boardwalk view for our trip 4th of July. I'm wondering if we have a "good" view of Illuminations from every balcony?

Its seems to me that we would be I'm not sure if I'm forgetting something.

Oh yeah, the Boardwalk View dosn't mean view from the "greens" does it?

thanks

Congrats on getting boardwalk view in July! That was really lucky at this late date (unless you booked this back in August or September). (and no - BW view doesn't mean you will be on the Greens).

We had BW view in Dec 2008 and could see Illuminations from our room (1-bed villa rm #3041). You shouldn't have trouble seeing it from most BW view rooms unless it is on the first floor. We could see the upper part of Illuminations from the BW view as well as from the room we had over Wyland Gallery which was considered pool/garden view in Feb 2008.

Hope you will post pics from your trip and the view! (what type of room did you reserve? We have boardwalk view for 2-bedroom villa & 2 studios at the end of November and I hope to get an upper floor with large balcony).

We own at Boardwalk. I booked a std. view at the beginning of December, one bedroom.

I used the waitlist for either boardwalk view or the beach club one bedroom.

While we've had preferred view a couple times (I'm usually too cheap w/ the pts.) we've never had boardwalk. We are really looking forward to it.

We had a boardwalk view in November - room 5011. It is a 1 bedroom villa, top floor, very close to Jellyroll's. We could watch Illuminations perfectly from our very large balcony. We loved the boardwalk view so much, that we are waiting for Disney to approve a 174 point BWV contract, so that we can have that view anytime!

We had a Boardwalk view a couple of weeks ago. We were on the 5th floor about three units over from Jelly Rolls. Looking to the right we had a great view of Illuminations and we were surprised to find that looking to the left we had a perfect view of Wishes at MK.

Last year we had the unit next to Jelly Rolls on the fourth floor. I'm sure we must have had a view of Wishes but I don't remember being anything like we had this year.

Higher floors further from the elevator have better views. Lower floors close to the elevator have more of the show blocked by the building. All views have much of the show blocked by the buildings and landscaping - since much of Illuminations happens low to the water.

We were in room 5011 the week before last - small world!

To the original poster - phone the resort the week before you arrive, and ask for a room as high as possible.

We were in 5015/5017 last January. Great view! I just requested highest floor when I made the reservations.

I love the boardwalk view for the simple reason that the nights I'm too lazy to walk over to view Illuminations in person I can watch it from the balcony or even better from my bed!

We were in 5011 (and 5009) for our January trip. I think the world just got a little smaller, lol.

Too funny that 3 posters have been in room 5011 since November. I wonder if there are any more? We loved that room - it was a long walk from the elevator, but the view sure made up for it.

Same as others we have had a BW view that had a nice view of Illuminations fireworks. We were on fourth floor, last room, at the JellyRolls area. So yes that long walk from the elevator does have some advantages!!!

Just for the sake of realistic expectations - our beds have always faced the "other way" so this wouldn't always work - even with a great high floor room.

I had a boardwalk view 1 bedroom facing the corner of the green and boardwalk - room 5051. It did not have a good Illuminations view plus it only had a small balcony off the living room, window in the bedroom.

I really appreciate all of the advice. I'm really excited for this view. I always said I would go std but this may change me forever lol.

I called today and told them as high as possible as close to JellyRolls as possible.

I will do as someone mentioned also and call them a week b4.

Thank you so much as usual for the always helpful advice.

The x051 rooms are the only BW view rooms that we dislike because they face the Village Green and only have an angle view of the BW. 2051 is the worst because there is a tree right outside the balcony which blocks much of the view. The x051 rooms are all 1 bedrooms, but that is the size we usually book and I always hold my breath when we check in hoping we won't be unlucky again. We have liked every other BW view room in terms of fireworks view.

We had the one bedroom villas in 5001 and 4001 (Crest O' The Wave) ... absolutely directly next to Jellyrolls.....couldn't get any closer!! We love the view. You just see the top of Illuminations, but still get a terrific view...and just sitting on that balcony, people watching, etc.......Oh good grief I need to be back there NOW! Warning.....5001 does not have a "roof" on it's balcony so you cannot sit out in the daily thunderstorms (4001 does of course). Oh and the smell of burgers from the Big River Grille just makes you hungry all the time LOL!!!

We actually request the room and maybe it's because we go in September, but they have honored our request 3 times now!

I was placed in room 2001 (1-bedroom vilal) back in Dec 2008 & I had requested upper floor, close to elevator and large balcony and I got none of these :lmao: I had a foot brace on and after being at the parks all day, it was quite a trek down from the elevator that first day (even tho the stairs were right outside my room, it was a little scary being alone comin up them). Plus those balconies are the smallest ones so barely room for when my DD, DDF and DGS were to join me 4 days later. Plus that night I couldn't get to sleep until after 3 a.m. with the drunks (all girls) outside. I'm sure this is not the case all the time but it was noisy even with doors closed and tv on low. I got moved the next morning to room 3041 between Thimbles & Threads and General Mercantile and it was a great view, close to elevator but balconies still small (this is in the yellow section if you are looking at the resort). I hope to get rooms 5011 & 5013 or 5015 & 5017 for our 2-bedroom this year.

We ALWAYS stay at BWV for the 4th and LOVE it! Last year we requested a Villiage Green view on advice from a Dis'er and Loved it. We have secured our ressie for BWV again for this year and again have requested Greens view(Made our ressie in Dec 2009) we were able to see Illuminations last 4th from our room balcony. Not the lower stuff but hey didn't have to deal with the crowds either :cool1:...Shawnpirate:
