Boardwalk View

Hi,
I just made a reservation for a Studio at BWV in December. Normally I have a standard view but this time only preffered was available and I was wondering what the chances are of getting a view of the Boardwalk (assuming that studios have this view available)Do I need to request this now with MS or nearer the time with Guest Relations,or is it just the look of the draw???
Any advice most welcome.

Hi, we have had Boardwalk view in a 2br once and in 2 different studios on another trip. We had member services put
"Boardwalk view" in the comments along with our nonsmoking preference when we made the reservation. We have been very lucky with our rooms on both of our DVC trips!!
So, I would suggest that you have them add it to the comments on your reservation. We got all of our requests on both trips, but we reserved at the 11 month mark day by day, so I am not sure if that made a difference.

Getting the view you request depends upon how busy it is at BW. We have always gotten a Boardwalk view when we have gone, except when we went down at Christmas. I have been told that requests are programmed into the computer about a month before your arrival, so you have a fairly good chance of getting the view that you want. If you are checking in, ask about the view before you leave the desk. They aren't too helpful at Christmas or Easter time, but every other time they have been quite accommodating to my requests. For example, I HATE the view of the Swan and Dolphin, so I always ask about that before I go to my room. Twice, when I was given that view, I requested a view of either the pool or the boardwalk, and got another view. When you check in, they almost always look for available rooms in the preferred category, and they keep switching around till they find a clean room. They don't usually take a second look on what view you requested if you don't make an issue of it.
