I'm considering booking a solo trip to Disney for my birthday week, November 9 - 15th. :thumbsup2 I'd love to stay at the Boardwalk to be close to Epcot. Does anyone have a map of the Boardwalk that shows where the Preferred View Studios are? What exactly is the "preferred view"? How hard to do you it will be to book this at 7 months?

Thanks!

At seven months in Novemeber, preferred view will be non-Boardwalk. It may be available immedietly for all days right at seven months - far more likely you'll need to waitlist for at least a few days - possible that the waitlist won't come through. Any delay in booking (waiting until six months out) will make it unlikely to get in at all. The Epcot area resorts are very popular at F&W with members, and a lot of BCV/BWV owners own SPECIFICALLY for the October through the Holidays period. However, on occation people have reported getting lucky and getting a Boardwalk View.

Preferred View (non-Boardwalk) will very likely overlook one of the pools or the canal to the Swan/Dolphin - there are a few other views that are classed as preferred, but the vast majority of the rooms are these.

We had a preferred view non-Boardwalk in January--here is a couple pics of our view

For the life of me, can't remember the room number. 3rd floor, dedicated one bedroom, about halfway down the hallway!

Tried to book a studio at BW for the end of last Oct. with no luck--will be trying again this year, though!

If you can snag a board walk view, I recommend it highly.
If I knew how to attach some pics I would. The view of the lake is great.

Thanks everyone. I think I'd be happy with any of the preferred views. I just really don't want to face the parking lot!

How noisy are the rooms that face the boardwalk?

And here's yet one more map that shows where the two different Preferred Views are.

Those would be the Standard View rooms...but most of them really face the entry drive and the parking lot is in the distance.

The boardwalk view rooms can be noisy. We were situated above the games twice and we could hear the "DING!" outside our door even with it closed. I believe that they stopped the games between 10:30 and 11:00.

Your chances of getting either Standard View or Boardwalk view in November booking seven months out or less are somewhat on the order of getting a straight flush Ace high in poker. I wouldn't worry about how noisy the Boardwalk View rooms are.
