Boardwalk-standard or preferred??

We want to stay at BWV in Sept and I was wondering if anyone has an opinion: preferred vs standard views. Is it worth the price difference? If anyone has stayed in standard what is the view of? Thanks for the help.

Standard gives you a view of the front entrance way/bus stop area. Preferred is everything else. Preferred does NOT guarantee you a Boardwalk view!!! Chances are very high that you will get either a pool or canal view.

Considering that you most likely won't get a Boardwalk view, if standard is available, I'd save the money.

Note that if you are renting through Disney, there is no distinction between standard and preferred as it charges the same rates regardless of where the room is. The distinction exists only for Disney Vacation Club members and their reservations. Thus, the only time you have a choice between standard and preferred view is when a member makes a reservation or you are renting from a member who makes the reservation on your behalf. In that situation, standard view are those rooms overlooking the front entrance, the road leading to it, or the tennis courts. From all you can see the parking lot although it is a distance away. None of those views is bad. Preferred is boardwalk view (the best but only 15% of all the rooms), in the Luna (main) Pool area, Quiet Pool area, and overlooking the lagoon. Those are also nice.
