Boardwalk parking question

If we are staying off property and DH are heading to Boardwalk for the evening with no ADRs, must we valet park or will we be turned away? I remember in the past anyone could park there to visit the Boardwalk at night but wasn't sure how it had changed. We have TIW but I believe that no longer has free valet?

You will probably be asked to valet, yes. Parking is limited and based on utilization they will generally route non-resort guests to valet.

TiW website:

  • Resort and Disney Springs™ valet services are complimentary to Tables in Wonderland members, for the sole purpose of dining at one of the participating Resort or Disney Springs™ restaurants. This privilege will only be extended to one vehicle per membership card. Present your membership card with a valid dining receipt from the participating Resort or Disney Springs™ restaurant at the Valet Stand upon retrieving your vehicle.
It does say participating resort, so I don't know if that will come into play.

The resort reference indicates that you need to be dining at a participating TiW resort restaurant, not a bar, lounge or food cart.

Except that you can use TiW at over a dozen resort lounge/bars. I have never valet parked, but I have used TiW at resort lounge/bars. So that part is not very clear since you can get food at many lounges.

My question is to whether "participating resort" means they participate in the TiW program or if they participate in Free Valet.

We have used our TIW card at BW many times. We go over to eat at YC...Crew Cup lounge, then stroll over to BW to have a nightcap at The Bellevue Lounge. Never a problem in the past. Interested in anyone who has recently, as within 2 months, had a problem. This would be an unfortunate change to a $150 dining discount.

We didn't have to valet park when we went there in May. It was a Friday night and we wanted to go get ice cream at Ample Hills. They just told us to park in the lot to the right. There were very few spots available though.
