Boardwalk OR Contemporary?

For the OP I would pick the Contemporary. I have stayed there before and I think it suits their criteria. I wasn't huge on the "modern" feel before staying there, but DH wanted to try it out. I actually got into it. It's not my FAVORITE resort of all time, but I think it's just fine. And it's got the Monorail - which imho is great.

We fell in love with the BWI but I still want to one day stay at CR. I think in your case with 3 kids and wanting to split your time between MK & Epcot having access to the Monorail and the walking path to MK staying at CR makes sense. There are more CS options in the MK area.

While you can walk to Epcot you will have to bus to MK from the BW

If the pool is important the BW pool I think is by far superior to the one at CR.

I really like Contemporary and how you can just jump on a monorail. And i love how you can walk to Magic kingdom.

Boardwalk is also nice since you can walk to Epcot. Overall, either hotel would be a great choice! :)

I'd go with Boardwalk. We just returned yesterday from staying at the BC and we loved it! The nightlife in that area is great! Two nights we walked over to the Boardwalk to eat and watch the entertainment. When at the Boardwalk you can always walk over to the BC and watch the movies on the beach and have a smore. Walking to Epcot can't be beat either. DH and I both love the WL but we are going to have a really hard time going to WDW and not staying in the Epcot resort area. We are already talking about a return trip to BC.

I know you said you didn't want to stay at the BC because of the large size of SAB, but we didn't find it to be a problem at all. We have twin sons that are six-years-old and we had no trouble keeping an eye on them and they are very active little guys. I had read reviews of how loud the pool area can be with music and games, etc. but we didn't find it to be bad at all. We never had trouble finding a lounger either. Just something to think about...

We stayed a beach club several years ago and the contemporary last year. The luxury or being able to go to the lobby and jump on a monorail (or take a boat to the MK) cannot be beat. Try it you will love it.
