Boardwalk or Beach Club

Hi,

I'm totally new to this, so forgive me if I'm wording this wrong. We're going to be at WDW from 10/23 to 10/28, and would like to stay at either the Beach Club or Boardwalk DVC. I understand that I can 'rent' points from a DVC member to use to book a room for the 4 of us - do I just ask here and you contact me?

So newbie at this, but willing to learn . . . .

I have no points to rent, but I'll tell you what I did last year. Just watch the boards, when someone posts that they have points to rent, contact them. Reservations can be made at any of the DVC resorts not just their home resort, If booking from their home resort ressie can be booked a few monthes farther out, I think (but not sure) 10 mo. out for home resort and 6 or 7 mo. out for other DVC resorts. We rented lasted year and had a great experience. I hope this made since, if not, I'm sure someone here can explain it better than I can. Good luck!

OK, I'm a slow learner, so let me see if I have this clear:

I post when and where I want to stay (and make myself aware of how many points I'll need to accomplish this)

Someone who OWNS these points decides that they want me to have the option of 'renting' them.

They contact me, I agree on a price, and the owner makes the reservation in my name. I send the owner a portion of the money.

I show up at the resort on the agreed upon day, and my reservation is there, and I send the rest of the payment and a muffin basket earsgirl: ) to the original owner.

If that's how to do it, I can do that!
