What do you like while on the Boardwalk?

I am interested in trying Spoodles for our next trip (and I assume ADRs are the way to go?)

Other Boardwalk favorites?

I'd like to know too! We may try an evening over there as well. Never ventured that way at WDW!

We like going to ESPN club and eat while we watch basketball games, we were there one year for the NCAA finals, had a front row table. The food is pretty good, tables or way to small.
My favorite on the Boardwalk is Big River Grille and Brewing Works they have great food and beer,we like sitting in the outside area on the Boardwalk and people watching, and watching shows on the Boardwalk at night, while having a drink.
If you have never been to the Boardwalk at night it is a must, the kids love the shows that go on at night, and Jellyrolls is a blast and a great place to meet people.

We're planning to give them a try on our day at Epcot. Someone on the boards showed a map that you can walk from Epcot to Board Walk so we thought let's go. We have never ventured that way either!

me and the GF tried sppodles for the 1st time our last trip and loved it. great food.. a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

we used to dine at the espn club all the time, but lately the service has been horrific so we skipped it

Is the ESPN Club a good place to go if you don't have an ADR?

I'm trying to decide on where to go for our first night, but don't know when all of my party will arrive on premises, so I don't want to do a reservation.

I was thinking Beaches & Cream (never been), ESPN Club or maybe something in the Swan/Dolphin or Downtown Disney (but I know for DD I may need an ADR) area

We like Flying Fish - but it's pricey. It's great to sit at the Chef's bar where you overlook the kitchen. It's fun to watch them preparing & cooking all the food. The seafood here is incredible too!

Flying Fish is one of the best restaurants in all of Disney. I would suggest going there.

B,

Might not be quite what you are looking for, but we enjoy the bakery. Grab something sweet, sit at the tables, watch the people go by. A very relaxing afternoon.

Here are 2 dishes from Flying Fish - mussels & scallops...

While I don't think the Boardwalk is all that great, I do like FF or bluezoo (at Dolphin) for dinner.

My DH and I ate at Spoodles for breakfast two days during our latest trip and really enjoyed it. They have press pot coffee and that was awesome.

We also at at Flying Fish and had a great dinner and an awesome waitress.

Yeah, I don't think we could get into Flying Fish w/o an ADR. And since we won't be using our dining plan just yet we will probably be looking at something a little cheaper.

Anyhow, I was just wondering if anyone has experience in walking up to ESPN or a restaurant in the Dolphin/Swan and getting a table w/o a reservation?

We look forward to JR's :thumbsup2

I haven't been that way either, but my husband stayed there while on a conference a few years ago (one I chose not to attend with him, crazy, I know)

We are going with my sisters next trip (may), and I think both of our moms are going (full house!), so there will be plenty of helpful hands with my son and daughter to check it out :goodvibes

We've ate at Spoodles a couple times for dinner and once for breakfast and all meals were very good...ESPN is a favorite for lunch or a cheapper dinner...ESPN doesn't do ADR's so if there is a big game on chances are you will have a long wait to get a seat...also, Big River Grille is not to bad either...I've actually had a couple of good steaks there...plus some of their beers are really excellent...my favorite is the Gadzooks Pilsner:thumbsup2

I am not a seafood person (exception: the occasional haddock plate in select, trusty ol' Boston area shacks), but my husband, Mother-in-Law, and my mom would be all over these~~

We have walked into both ESPN Club & Big River without reservations.
