Boardwalk, BLT and Atlantis Bahamas trip report with photos

I'm loving your pictures. I can't wait to see the rest.

Good idea since this was their first snorkle but definitely take them on an off site all day trip with lunch provided. It was the highlight of our Bahama stay. Just remember the sun screen.

Loving your TR. Happy Birthday....I turn 40 on the 26th.

Loving your tip about the photo session....I didn't know they even had that.
Also....was fireworks in Studios just for the 4th???
Thanks
Kerri

Love the trip report - thanks for sharing all the tips and pics!! We're staying at BLT for the first time 1BR MK view (2 adults, 2 - 10 yr olds) and plan to see wishes one night either from room or TOTWL. Can't wait!

this is a wonderful trip report! Thanks for taking the time to do this. Your pictures are amazing. Can I ask what kind of camera you used? I apologize if someone already asked and I skipped over it because I was looking for more of "the report".:)

Absolutely loving your TR.
As for dining outside of Atlantis since it is so expensive, are there many good choices, or are you pretty stuck with the hotel restaurants? I saw you mentioned Johnny Rockets, but are there many others that are easy, (and safe), to get to?

Thanks.

Let me answer some questions tonight.

1. Hollywood studios had a special fireworks on July 4th. Not sure what days of the year they do this. My guess is new years and July 4th.

2. I have two cameras.

The first is a canon rebel t2 and the second is a waterproof Olympus 8010 tough.

I am no expert at all with taking picture so these cameras must be good.

3. Actually nassua is not that bad at all for safety.

We ate at the restaurant in the shopping strip across the street. Not bad at all.

Last time we took the boat over to the main land to eat. They have the usual hard rock and some restaurants. The locals love a place called 'the fish fry'

We didn't travel over to the main land this time. They were celebrating their independence July 10th. Fireworks at the fish fry and a bunch of local bands.
All of the kids at the elementary schools also put on shows.

The main land also has a local shopping area for tourist to buy hand made items. From t-shirts, wallets, quilts and wood carvings.

A big thing over there is conch. I don't like it at all, but they make everything out of conch. Conch soup, conch fries, conch sandwich, etc.

Conch is a sea snail.

I will post another report tomorrow.

I love the photo session where you're all in white. That was awesomeness. :thumbsup2

Really enjoying your TR. It is awesome to hear from someone who has actually stayed at Atlantis. We have visited there a couple of times while cruising but to actually stay there, nope. You are making me seriously give it some thought.

Love all the pictures too! Thanks. :)

Day 7: July 9 Part 2

sorry i took a couple of days.

to get back to the trip report:

so after we snorkeled for a few hours the boys wanted to see some of the feedings and walk around the resort to see the fish.

here are the pictures:

The predator tank had some baby looking sharks and plenty of stingrays

after having fun with all the feedings we headed back to our room to get ready for dinner.

tonight we would go off site, across the street to the strip mall for dinner.

sorry i don't remember the name of the place, but it is the only restaurant available outside of atlantis you can walk to.

dinner was decent and very affordable. my son and i got a personal pizza. my wife a fish plate and son some pasta.

all dishes/pizza were good and i would say it was a nice change of pace.

after dinner the boys went to the arcade while the wife and i went to the comedy club. this is a normal comedy club with second type acts. no headliners, but still enjoyable for some laughs.

this was also nice to get some adult time from the kids and have a few drinks.

the show isn't very long maybe 1 and 1/2 hours tops, so kids were able to keep busy for that long. atlantis also has a movie theater as well for people/kids to kill time at night, but we kept missing the start times.

well another night down and sad to say tomorrow will be our last day on a very memorable vacation.

will post my last set of pictures with update. :(

Was it Anthony's?

I usually eat there once a trip, and I agree with your assessment.
