Well, I'm already planning my next trip to WDW after the one I have coming up in late summer/early fall.

Don't know when yet, but I need to start planning cause it might be not far off.

Question:

Is there a consensus on which to choose between Boardwalk, Yacht, or Beach Club? They seem to have comparable amentities and are in the same general area. Which of the three would be best, in terms of walking to both Epcot and MGM? Just exactly how far is the walk to Epcot and MGM from each?

The boardwalk seems the most attractive to me in terms that I like the way the boardwalk with shops itself looks in pictures, but if the other two are more convenient I'd choose them.

Thanks!

I havent stayed at any of the 3 yet, but we recently chose BW for our stay next month! Im sooo excited! Ive wanted to stay at BW since I was a kid (just love the atmosphere), I got a great Fl Res Rate and we booked it! Let us know what you decide

I'm wondering the same thing...

I've stayed at the boardwalk inn and at the villas and I love them both!

For our next trip I'm trying to decide on where to stay. Tonight I read recent reviews of the beach club, the boardwalk, and the wilderness lodge on trip advisor and the wilderness lodge gets great reviews....the beach club's are so iffy....i'm as stumped as you are...ugh!

YC is further than the BC as far as walking to Epcot - but not by much. It never took us more than 5-10 minutes to be through the International Gateway. We personally did not think there was much difference between the YC and BC.

The Boardwalk just looked fun to us and we each commented that we would probably give it a try on the next trip. Depending on where you stayed at the BW, the walk is similar to BC or YC.

We walked back from MGM to YC 1 time and it seems like it was 15 minutes or slightly longer.

Thanks for the help. Yacht Club would also be in my taste, and I guess it might be a bit more central between Epcot and MGM.

Appreciate all those thoughts above. I don't think I'll go too terribly wrong with any of the three.

Hope you all have a great trip too!

We visited all three in December since we knew we wanted to stay in an Epcot resort this coming fall. We loved Boardwalk and Yacht Club. Beach club was noisy and chaotic (maybe just a bad day for them) but in any case it came down to BW and Yacht club and we ended up with YC mostly for the pool. We will stay at Boardwalk next time we do an epcot area resort. Trip after this one will probably be an MK resort though. We only live 2 hours away so we go fairly often.

We've stayed at both the BC and BW. I think it really depends on which appeals to you more. Personally we like the BW better, unless we will have some open days and its very hot. In that case we stay at the BC (or YC) because of the pool, which is better. I really don't think you can go wrong.

We've stayed at all of them and the only reason we choose the YC/BC over the BW is because of the pool Storm a Long Bay at the BC/YC. The kids like it over the Scarey Clown Pool . All 3 resorts are great!

I think that the boardwalk is probably the best. My family and I stayed there last year and we loved it! It has great fancy food and then just food that is the kind of food thats quick. From boardwalk Epcot is probably like 15 minutes walking distance and on the boat it is about 10 minutes. To MGM you really only get there by boat unless you take a bus by boat it is about.... 20 minutes because you have to take other stops to other hotels. The pool at boardwalk is very kid like. It has elephant statues that squirt water, a clown slide, and a jungle gym for the little kids. But if you keep walking on the left side of the pool you will find a quiet pool. Depending on where your room is it can be easy to find quiet pools, but the quiet pool by the main pool has a recreation room. It is a little building next to the quiet pool and you can't miss it. It has video games, ping pong, foose ball, television, and coloring. So it's fun for the whole family! I hope I was some help! Have fun in disney!

I've stayed at all three. My favorite is YC. All three of them have things that are special about that resort. My choice of YC is mainly because I like the decor, it's quieter than the other two yet still kid friendly. It's closer to the boat dock than BC, but most of all....they share buses and YC is the first stop for the bus. The bus is always empty when it goes to YC and there is no worry about making it on the first bus or not. It is also the first stop back from the MK or AK. I also like Stormalong Bay much better than Luna Park at Boardwalk.

I have only stayed at the BWI and the BC, never the YC. I don't think you can wrong with any of the 3. BC is closest walk to Epcot, but BWI and YV are not much farther. The boats to MGM and Epcot are centerally located for all 3 resorts. The pool at BC/YC is nicer, but much more spread out and hard to watch younger children. Also, the pool bar at BC/YC offers better food. The BWI has the prettiest lobby (I think) and is the most elegant, followed by the YC, than the BC. Dining options are good at all 3.

After reading this board i'm in a quandary - have never stayed anywhere but OKW. So this time for our 25th anniversary, we decided to try BWV 9/9-16 (BCV wasn't available). Then we added a few days to beginning and decided to pay instead of using DVC points and chose to try BC. That's when I asked whether I could switch from BWV to BCV and found out it was available.

We're thrilled because we won't have to switch resorts. Then I found this thread and now I don't know if I should switch back to BWV. :confused3

Has anyone stayed at both BCV and BWV? And if so, could you share your experiences, opinions and ways these two resorts differ? That would be really helpful - nothing like second guessing ..........

thanks!!

After YC, does the bus go to BC, BW, Swan, and Dolphin? thanks, tink

We have stayed at both the BCV and BWV. For us, we love the BCVs better but if it is just the two of you and you have a BW view, I would go with the BWV. It seems a little more romantic. We love the BW area so when we stay at the BCV, we get the best of both worlds. Also, the BCVs are only a 5 minute walk to Epcot where we like to spend much of our time. You can't go wrong with either one. I wish I could pinpoint why BWV don't strike our fancy because so many guests love it. BC also has Art the Greeter! LOL! Good luck with your choice!

My family has stayed at both. We prefer BCV over BWV. The main reason is the pool. I have 2 DS (9 and 2). My DS(9) like the pool at BCV and my little one likes the sandy area (he can walk almost anywhere in that area and it is not over his head). DS9 likes the game room over at BWV but not enough to overcome the pool situation. I really think it depends on what your family likes to do and how much time you are spending at the resort. If you don't have kids to consider and you don't use the pool, I would probably do BWV because the restaurant proximity and evening stuff but the walk from the BC area is not far at all. For us, it's the pool, so it makes the decision easy. Good luck with your decision!
