Hi everyone! We are planning a family trip in December for Christmas. I am taking my parents. Both of them have mobility issues. They will be renting carts for getting around. Currently I have a two bedroom accessible room at the AKL Jambo. I am really interested in moving to the Boardwalk because I think it will have more for them to do. They will not be going to the parks everyday and I think they would enjoy the entertainment that boardwalk offers. My concern is the bathroom. My mom said they didn't have to have a roll in shower, but they did need handrails inside the shower. Does anyone know if the showers in the two bedroom villas (lockoff is what is available) have these handrails? The member services person wasn't sure, but did say they could request a bath seat without issue. Thanks for your help.

Are you asking about accessible rooms? I do not know the answer to that except that ones with roll-in showers did have handrails, and probably still do, but I have not seen one since the refurb. As to the regular 2BRs (there are only lockoff's at BWV), there are no handrails in the shower. There is nothing in the shower to hold onto other than the faucet, shower head, and a little shelf for soap.

I'm sorry. I didn't make that clear. There are not any accessible rooms available for the entire time, only regular 2 bedrooms villas. Thank you for the information.

There isn't a whole lot of entertainment at the Boardwalk, it probably wouldn't keep them busy for long.

The entertainment is in the evening mostly magic shows. There is a dueling piano bar.

No, there will not be handrails in the shower in the 1BR part of the shower. The bar you see on the door is a towel bar on the outside of the door.

It seems like some of the non-HA studios have a handrail in the tub/shower but I don't know if it's all of them or just some.

This is the shower in the 1BR section of a roll-in shower HA room at BWV:

Thank you. There is total accessible availability at the Beach Club. I haven't stayed there, but have heard that the rooms are a bit smaller. Do any of you have experience with this? In addition to myself and my husband and my parents, there will also be atleast 2 and possibly four grown "kids". I really appreciate your help.

VWL, SSR, BCV and BWV are virtually identical in size and shapes. If there's a few feet difference it's unnoticeable.
