BMI US flight sale

Hi Wayne,

Just a quickie, what are the seat configurations for this flight. I have had a look at the seat plans but I don't know which Airbus would be mine from Aberdeen to Orlando.

Many thanks :thumbsup2

Hi Wayne,
We are travelling out on Sunday 10th of August, one night in Holiday Inn LBV, then up to St Augustine for four nights, then CBR at Disney for a week with free DDP and lastly a week at the Hard Rock Hotel, travelling home on the 29th.

I see the flights would have cost an extra £100 between us today, so glad I booked last night, although I realise they will fluctuate up and down.

Just the car to sort out now!

Thanks again for the post, I have been checking a few flight operators regularly but BMI wasn't one of them.

Cheers Michael

I believe this is the plane BMI use for transatlantic flights.

Obi will correct me if I am wrong, he is the expert on planes:thumbsup2

Yes, Airbus A330-200 series, flt No. BD705 and regarding another thread, is also the United Airlines flight UA4821, so worth a look on their site for prices as well.

Economy seats in a 2-4-2 config, I have access to seat plans and seat availabilities for BD. Buisness small cabin of 2 2 2 , 3 rows.

I am trying to find flights for 3 14 year old and 2 adults, but it keeps telling me that my party is too big!!!!!!!!!! Best price I can get is £538.

Probably a glitch in the system, try again Tomorrow, If its August you are trying for I doubt you will do much better than £538 or £700 direct with Virgin. Unless you have any airmiles to use.

I don't believe it, yesterday I could get flights for £1241 and today it's gone UP by £500

I know but it was from Aberdeen and on a Thursday for 11th September 2008. I can't imagine too many people are going away on the same day from the same airport!

PP whats your dates? I'll have a look for you.
It will be Aberdeen to somewhere won't it then onto Orlando?

Hi Obi, the route was aberdeen - manchester - chicago - orlando on 18/09 and returning on 9/10 BUT because of the 11 month rule these dates weren't available so I input dates exactly one week before so 11/09 and returning 02/10.

When I did it yesterday the total price was £1241 but today it was £1750ish.

Thanks Obi,

I just don't get it, if there are no seats sold then why on earth has it gone up by £500 and also the sale seats don't need to be booked until the end of next week so there was time to get my booking in.

I just don't know what to do now :headache:

You could try selecting MAN to MCO as a separate flight and booking the ABZ to MAN separately. As stated in a previous post I had a similar issue with the website insisting the EDI to MAN flight was business class hence a big increase for the 4 of us over booking the flights separately.
Worth a try maybe

Hi,

Did that too and that's gone up by £300 making the leg from aberdeen to manchester £200. :headache:

Just be careful when booking connecting tickets like this that you allow plenty of time for the connection. If the segments are on separate tickets and you hit a delay or problem on the segment to MAN that causes you to miss the MAN to EDI flights you could find yourself on your own. Traditionally the airlines would help you out, but they are under no obligation (unless you book MCO-MAN-EDI on a single ticket). Also, some airlines are no longer interlining or through checking bags unless you have the itinerary on a single ticket.

After 14 years of travelling to the States (always booking single tickets) we have always had to collect bags and goto security check/bagdrop. Just been to Vegas/LA. All flights were with AA, still had to collect and drop in Chicago.
Coming back no problems, you check them in and dont see them until your destination.

Hi Obi,
Following on from other comments about the sale prices being hiked a couple of days after it started, wondered if you have time, could you check how many seats have been sold on the flight I am on. I booked Man - MCO via Chicago, travelling out on the 10th of August, returning the 29th August.

I booked on the day the sale started, 3 adults and 1 child, total cost £2058, the price yesterday and today is £900 more, just wondered if this was due to a lot of seats being sold or just a temporary price hike.

Thanks Michael
