My husband and I are both completely fascinated by the drinks at bluezoo after we looked at the pics from the Blog earlier this month, specifically the Bacon Bourbon cocktail and the Bazooka Joe martini. We totally want to go there, but my husband isn't a huge fan of seafood. Can anyone tell me what kinds of food are on the bar menu there? I've heard it was separate from the restaraunt menu. Also, can you get dessert at the bar as well? There were a couple of desserts on the restaraunt menu that had my eyes boggling and my mouth watering.

There's no longer a separate bar menu. You can order from the full restaurant menu. There are non-seafood selections available. Yes, you can order dessert.

I ordered dessert at the bar two nights during my trip a couple weeks ago. ;)

Not to drag things off-topic, but the Bacon Bourbon has been discontinued. I was there on Friday the 22nd, and was quite looking forward to having one. The server told us it didn't sell, and the infused bourbon tended to fade pretty quickly, so they axed it.

The Burnt Orange was an exceedingly good substitute, though. Had I not been having wine with dinner, I would've not stopped at one...

Also, several of the desserts make you weak in the knees. The malted chocolate creme brulee was out-of-sight good.

Aw, darn it! My husband was really, really looking forward to trying a drink with bacon. After all, bacon makes everything better. :thumbsup2

I had a dessert 2 weeks ago that they were offering as a special, not on their regular menu and OMG, I ate every bite of it. I usually take 2 bites of dessert and stop but I couldn't on this one.

They had two chocolate desserts. One I had before and one I hadn't tried. The one I hadn't tried was the Chocolate Melange. Different forms of chocolate on a plate, lined up in a row. Fabulous. I returned a few days later to get the chocolate cake thing I knew I already liked.

How easy is it to get a seat at the bar? It is just DH and me and I'm trying to get away with just making a few ADR's for our trip in May.

When we ate there in May this year, it was pretty empty. When we ate there 2 weeks ago, the place was packed. I was pretty surprised because in all the times we have eaten here, this was the first time it was full and there were 2 couples waiting for an open spot. I'm glad we had called that morning to get an ADR because every other time we've walked in without a problem.

I have never been there when it was full, except for one night when the cafe area was blocked off for a private party, even then the bar area wasn't completely full.

I understand it can be a very different outcome when there is a large convention at the Swolphin.
