Blue Rewards Chatter (previously known as Airmiles!)

Not sure what they did but I ended up with slightly more Blue Rewards than a simple conversion of 95=1500. I wasn't around to figure out what my final balance in my account was and it looks like I earned 32AM before the conversion that I can't trace. Bugs me that I can't reconcile it but it is what it is.

Time to start learning all the new ins and outs of this new program.

There was a 10x amazon purchase that posted the day or so before hand, I only earned 9 for that but maybe you had that? I had forgotten about it to be honest so was surprised by 9 little AM

Checking new partners:

Now I wish they would say Dollarama is a partner and list it or not,,, too confusing.
Just becasue you can get e vochers as rewards I don't think that qualifies them to be listed as a partner.
I've searched the site and can't find anything about it.

Thai Express is a good one for me as they will make my stuff in a seprate area and wok,, no shellfish contamination.
Mr Sub is good as I like their 1/2 Tuna subs occasionally.
I will admit both restaurants are 5 minutes from my home. LOL

I’m so annoyed. After how many years now as a loyal AirMiles customer my account and my husbands account are still not working. This is after last week they made me call them to change my email address and give me a new account #. 45 min of my life wasted plus more time now to call them to ask why even after password update I still can’t log in. I had recently put a claim in for about 180 missing miles too. No emails were sent to me about those yet. If my account was marked as fraud for asking for what I was owned, that is so wrong.

I am so sad this has happened to a long time loyal user of Airmiles. not a way to treat someone. I don't do any social media but was wondering if you could try contact them via this way,,, others have had luck calling them out online.

Thanks. I tried logging in on private browsing tab… and what do you know both my account and my husbands account work. But when I try to get into the app for either, doesn’t work. Says password that worked online is not valid for app. I guess I technically still have account but can’t redeem receipts anymore?! So much for the 2 grocery receipts on my desk I was saving!

Don’t have enough in either account to redeem so guess I will just wait and see.

I earned about $550 of gift cards on my account every year using AirMiles. I have earned $255 by being a more active PC member this year - since March 13 only! For me that is a better program than AM.

I also switched to cashback MC instead of AM / Blue. Too annoying for such small reward.

I am kind of in the same boat with collecting Airmiles (Blue Rewards) I have collected enough for about 4 e vouchers this year. (not much compared to other years).
I am doing much better with Scene+ ,,, I am averaging close to $100 back each month,,which I am saving in my vacation fund. But having Foodland, Freshco and Sobeys is what makes it work,,Shell could add to the equation.
I use west jet MC to pay for my flight.
Well atleast there are options for us all.

So if I get a $100 GC from Dollarama, how much do I get back in $ value in points? I know I'd get 100 points which is 1/15 of $10. So is that like .67 cents? If that's right, it's pretty sucky.

Your math is right.

This kind of return will deter the people who were abusing the old system. Those of us who purchase things we were going to anyways it's still extra points.

Purposefully to confuse users and make offers look better. Would you rather have 1 mile or 16 points? Even though it’s the same. Not a fan of the changes they have made. I got a few missing miles added to my account in blue points now but as soon as I have enough I will be cashing out and tuning out!

This is probably the truest statement made on the change. I had loads of conversations with clients trying to have them collect AMs. Most couldn't understand that you only received 1 AM for every $20 spend (that was the value then) when they were getting 1000 whatever points for the same spend. They didn't understand that they both worked out the same, they just saw numbers and 1000 was much more than 1. It was a constant battle. When I first heard about BMO purchasing AMs and then the switch, this was my first thought. Probably not the only reason for the switch but more than likely a large part. Old collectors may not like it but it will entice new collectors and the old clients will adapt.

Have almost 3k points now. Tried to redeem a $10 Michaels e-gift card and it had me in an endless loop of sign in again, sign in didn’t work, etc. not bothering. Maybe next week. Let me know if anyone else is actually about to redeem.

That is pretty much the same as before, if I recall correctly. We used to get 1 AM for a $20 purchase. So on a $100 gift card, you would get 5 AMS which was basically 50 cents. It was only when there were good multiplier deals that anything was worthwhile at Dollarama and it was easy for an extra partner when you needed to use a certain number of partners.

I was wondering about that myself. I tried to get the card link to work on the desktop site to no. avail. Finally tried it through the phone app and got to where I could see that all my old payment methods were still linked. That being said they are all BMO cards.

Better to be safe and check and see.

I agree with others, while I’m happy to see Dollarama back, I’d have to spend $150 just to get $1 back in value. Terrible return so will not be going out of my way for this one.
