Blue Man Group

Has anyone been to this show? We always take the kids into NYC during the holidays and part of the day is taking in a show. We have seen the Christmas Show at Radio City (several times), The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center and A Christmas Carol at MSG. In addition, we've already seen Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. My kids are 12 and 14 and would love to see Rent, but I think it's a little racy for them yet (DH and I have seen it) so need to find a show that's a little different that they would enjoy. A co-worker has been to Blue Man Group 4 times and raved about it. So whaddaya think? $65 a ticket is a bit high, but if it's that good, we'll do it. Anyone else see this show?

I've been to the show in Chgo. 2 times and loved it!! It's very funny and entertaining. I think your kids will like it too, lots of great music....i have the CD. Get the tickets, forget about the cost, and have a great time (that's what i do for Disney ).

I've been to the show in Boston. It was fantastic!!! If you have the chance go for it! It is at the Charles Theater which is more intimate a place than the large ones...makes the show that much better!

Blue Man Group is great! Another suggestion is STOMP. It's a terrific show ... with music, dance and performers that kids that age would relate to. They should really enjoy either show.

Blue Man Group is great! My 4 year old still talks about seeing it (he was 3 at the time)! I agree with Swanmom, Stopmp is another really good one. Another show that might be fun is De Laguarda (I know I spelled it wrong), it is very different. You stand the whole time, but move around because the performers move around and utilize space all over the place. It is sort of interactive, the performers go into the audience, it's a funky type thing. I thought I was going to hate it, thought "oh great we have to stand the whole time, this is going to suck." Turns out I really enjoyed it and want to take the kids (well the older ones anyway). I think it is listed under off Broadway.

Blue Man Group is wonderful IMO! They are very creative and the show is fun for all ages. If the theatre is small (like the one in Boston) you really feel like you are part of the show. The group does like audience participation during certain segments.

It's well worth the money.

Ok Boston area people...would it be appropriate for a 3yo & a 7yo? DH & I want to see it but will have to take the kids. Looks like a lot of fun!

We saw it in Chicago. At the time, our kids were about 10 & 8 yrs old. I didn't tell my husband and kids what I was taking them to see and they knew nothing about it. We sat in the front row and we loved it. I would definitely recommend it.

DW and I saw it in Vegas and really enjoyed it. I can't think of anything that would be offensive to children(although it does get a bit weird). It's a colorful, musical, fun show. For the 3 yo it would just be a matter of keeping their attention for the duration of the show.

Thanks everyone! I didn't realize there were so many replies! I think it's a go for our family. Now I'm excited after seeing so many positive responses!

We saw it on our Boston trip in 10th grade.
After a day of educational museums and stuff like that this is exactly what we needed.
I have never laughed so hard in my entire life.
