Blue Lagoon Island Sea Lion Encounter (N40) - Thoughts? Reviews?

I really want to hug a sea lion and purchase an overpriced picture to commemorate the moment, so obviously this excursion is perfect. lol. But has anyone actually done this and have thoughts or advice? I'm just curious.

We did this several years ago. You do not hug. You get to pet them a few times as they swim by and do a kiss. If this type of encounter is offered at Atlantis I would recommend that over Blue Lagoon. From an animal welfare standpoint, the animals are cared for better there.

Sea Lions are gigantic wild animals. Definitely not huggable.

California has tons of places where they hang out. (Pier 39 in SF being the most famous.). You can see them in the wild rather than captive.

We did this a few years ago and we had a good time. My son was obsessed with sea lions and seals. The sea lion our group was supposed to interact with was not feeling it that day so they had us wait on one that the first group had met. The grin on my kids' faces was worth it.
