Hello,

We're group of four adults and a one year and wanted to do an excursion at Blue Lagoon. I e-mailed Blue lagoon directly because its either going to be just three adults doing the dolphin swim, or 2 of us, and one doing the encounter with the one year old. When you go online if you do that, you have to book the two separate times 10.30, and 1 pm and I'm scared that will be too late. So I'm resolved to do the three adults doing the swim all at the same time. I've had some real snotty replies back from blue lagoon asking us just to book it with Disney, but its $150 more to book it with Disney, then to book it direct. I'm here because I just want to check that its feasible to book directly with blue lagoon the 10.30 boat, do the swim and then leave on the 2pm boat. it says the experience is 3 and a half hours which makes sense with the boat times. We definitely would be able to make that 10.30 boat wouldn't we? First time cruiser.

Thanks

Cassie.

Past reports indicate that they will not let you book independently if you are on a cruise. Of course I'm sure people lie, but that's on them and their conscience.

I would prefer to pay a little more and do excursions with the cruise lines.

Blue Lagoon has an exclusive booking contract with DCL (and other cruise lines). So if they know that you are arriving via cruise ship, they won't take your booking directly. If you want to book directly, you have to lie about your accommodations. That would give you a spot on the particular ferry over but I don't know whether that puts you at a disadvantage and what their obligations are in having a place for you on a certain ferry on the way back -- in case they need to get ship passengers back per their contracts. I do know if I were trying to skirt around Blue Lagoon's contract with DCL I would check their cancellation policy (which I believe is 24 hours in advance). If you told them you were not arriving by cruise ship and for some reason the ship can't dock, they aren't going to bend their policy for you.

We did Blue Lagoon a few years ago and booked through Disney, the ferry did make one stop and picked up passengers at another dock (maybe a hotel dock, not sure).
But we book through DCL, so we don;t have to worry about any issues with missing the boat.
The beach area was nice, kind of like the set up on CC, with a barrier in the ocean. We really enjoyed the day, not crazy busy and the weather was beautiful.
