So we have several memberships. Most are "blue card" eligible either through direct purchase or grandfathered. We have on that I am wondering about. This one memberships has 3 contracts: 160 pts resale for BLT, 2 contracts totaling 75 points direct BWV. This was back when 75 direct got you "blue card". So is the whole membership "blue card" or just the BWV contracts? Thanks in advance.

The membership is blue card. You might have issues with membership extras for a stay on resale points only.

Blue card is not really a meaningful term anymore.

You have access to all Membership Extras if a single contract qualifies in a membership.

However, any resale contracts will carry their own restrictions for using to book at another resort; if you buy a resale Riviera contract tomorrow with a membership that is eligible for Membership Extras, you still will only be able to use it at Riviera - but on a stay using those points you can still get DVC discounts.

It doesn’t make a lot of sense but those are the policies!

You are eligible for membership extras as long as you own qualified contracts. You will have DVC Y on your membership card

Thst is different than resale restrictions which has nothing to do with membership extras.

Where one can use points is based on when you purchased them. So, your resale points, if bought after 2019, can’t be used st RIv, VDH, CFW, and presumbly all future projects.

People sometimes think of the two as connected but they are not.

It will always be a meaningful term as long as we keep it alive. Long live the "Blue Card". Funny story from my home town. When ever somebody asks for directions for a place in a certain area we tell them to turn right at Shirley's Amoco. Everybody including people newer to the area know what the locals are talking about. It's been a Speedway for at least 20 years now.
