I'm having a tough time deciding what to try when we go for lunch this trip. DH has his little heart set on a Monte Cristo so he's figured it out.

I swear I asked this before but I can't find it. I'm not so awesome at searching apparently. LOL

And yes, I'm aware it's horribly 'overpriced' and 'not worth it' for a lot of you...but it is for us. This is our ONE nice meal :)

Crab cakes!!!!!

I also like the Seafood Jambalaya. It's easily enough for 2 and you have to like spicy.

Mmmmm... the Tesoro Chicken is good, too..

Oh you really can't go wrong... sorry I'm no help. :/

Lana :)

11:30 am- Lunch time first seating- with a nice ask to be by the water- (for our party of 4) 2 orders of split plate Monte Christo's so we can each have our own salads and sides:

mmmmmm that looks so good, I cannot wait to try it!

Ohhhhh I have been on the fence for SO MANY things. DH is so excited for his Monte...I just don't think my stomach could handle it but I'm TOTALLY stealing a bite lol.

I love spicy and had been considering the Jambalaya..I'd heard a poor review of the crab cakes which made me sad cuz I wanted to try them so I'm glad to hear a good review!

Lana, your daughter looks SO much like my DH's sister. It makes me smile :)

OMG those potatoes!!! I NEED that recipe! lol

My favorites are the MC (but I can't eat it by myself, way too much!) and the Tesoro Island Chicken.

We went to the Blue Bayou for the first time last October-we saved all our change so we could go. My daughter and I split the Monte Crisco and although we loved the gumbo, service and atmosphere, it was the grossest sandwich I have even eaten. It is deep fried-way too rich and greasy for me! Just a FYI for you. Everyone has their own tastes and I have heard how yummy it was for years and I was very disappointed! :( Once again this is JMHO. :)

Ah yes... disappointment I know all too well for example Dole Whips, I finally tried one during my 2011 visit and let me tell ya' I thought if I took a few more licks then maybe it would grow on me, well no! It is way too sugary sweet even for me. So I thought to myself so many people love this but my taste buds don't oh well so be it. I was able to exchange it for a bottle of water, thank goodness. Anyway, now back on topic :) I so totally love the Bayou Surf and Turf, for it is so very delicious as is the Tesoro Island Chicken entrée. If you like beef, lobster tail or chicken then these meals will not disappoint. And definitely arrive a bit early if you should decide to dine at the Blue Bayou, about 15 -20 minutes early so as to have an opportunity to dine by the waterside. It is all a wonderful experience in my opinion.

~~ I love you Phil and you will forever be with me! Forever my very best and most special friend! I love you to no end. ~~

I love the Tesoro chicken, kid #2 loves the ribs. Kid #1 doesn't like anything, but they're always helpful and get her a big helping of mac and cheese.

The gumbo is amazing as well.

DH and I always get the Surf and Turf - last time some of our friends got the Jambalaya and Crab Cakes and loved them too at dinner !

I am also a fan of their Creme Bruelle for dessert..Mmmm.;)
