Has anyone been to the BB lately and had a split plate? I know there was discussion about the price going up recently and weather or not they served full sides with the extra plate. I would like to celebrate my b-day there, since I have always wanted to eat there, but it needs to stay within my budget.

The split plate cost was $12 when we went in March and we both got our full sides and the meal was split on the two plates with full veggies.

We ate at Blue Bayou for the first time on Wednesday. It was for my dh's birthday. We split the monte cristo and just asked for an extra plate. No fee, and it was plenty of food for the both of us. They also brought my dh a bday treat, which was a surprise. It was a chocolate mousse with whipped cream, mickey confetti and a candle. We really enjoyed it and would definately recommed it!

I have one suggestion! In the free mouse there was a really cute big red mickey head that was edible. It was also rock-like, very much like the creme brule treasure chest. I would not recomend trying to eat it!:rotfl:

There is a $12 charge, as mentioned, if you want the staff to split the meal in the kitchen and bring each person his/her own plate with full sides. If you are okay with splitting it yourself at the table and don't need extra sides, you can simply ask for an extra plate and forego the $12 fee.

Thanks for the quick feedback. Now onto my PS reservation.....

the split fee also includes an extra soup or salad. My mother and I always do this.
