Blue Bayou Kids Menu Changes

FYI, for anyone thinking of dining at Blue Bayou with kids, they apparently recently changed their kids menu to make it (in my opinion), much more kid-friendly and a great value. We were there yesterday for the first time and were pleasantly surprised that it's a "mix and match" selection -- kids pick one of the four entrees and can then pick any two of the six offered sides. Compared to the terrible little "base camp cheeseburger" meal my daughter ordered at Smokejumpers Grill for $8, the kids lunch at Blue Bayou was an incredible value. My daughter ordered the mac and cheese as her entree with spaghetti and Au Gratin potatoes as her sides, which were all proclaimed delicious (she's 11 and they allowed her to order off the kids menu at the $9 kids price with drink and it was plenty of food). My son also picked the mac and cheese and got Au Gratin potatoes and the "seasonal vegetables", which was 100% unseasoned steamed broccoli, which we adults ate to counterbalance our fried Monte Cristo.

Thanks for the information. We have reservations there in March and I was worried my 11 year old twins would be made to order off the adults menu- which would be a huge waste of money. More variety of options is also great news.

I hope this means they will start uping the game on the kid options at the parks. I noticed when recently looking at the Steakhouse 55 menu they got to choose the sides as well. Interesting! I was always perplexed why the kid options are not all that great at the parks. Thanks for sharing!

Ah nice!!! Thank goodness. Any ideas if Cafe Orleans is doing something similar now? My son has the hardest time eating there :(

ETA!!!! I just checked the app and all the restaurants (sit down) seem to be doing this now, thank goodness!!!! Love it.
