Hi. My home resort is SSR but I currently have BLT in a one bedroom from December 27-29, booked for a pre-cruise stay. I was able to book since I had the BLT points transfered into my account.

My 20 year old dd and I decided to go down a day early than the rest of our family (10 total including my dh/ds-16) and booked SSR for December 26.
At 7 months, which is May 26 (Memorial Day and I will need to do online), I need to Wait List BLT for a one bedroom, standard view, since this is what I currently have now. If we don't get BLT for December 26 it will be fine but we would much prefer BLT since we already have our ressies there and won't have to move.

SO, my questions are:
*Can I do a waitlist online?
*How many WL can I request for the same date?
*What would possibly give me the best option for my WL to come through?
I do not care if it is studio, one, two or GV but would prefer one bedroom since this is what we currently have and would be best since we would not have to move rooms at all.

Thank you all very much!

Yes. The on-line booking tool will give you the option to wait list if you search criteria does not return an available room.

You can have up to two active wait list requests per Membership per Use Year.

Wait listing a Lake View which makes up approx. 70% of all the rooms at BLT.

Perfect!
Thank you very much.
Do you think I should WL a Lake View studio and one bedroom to make up my two WL requests or are there more 2 bedrooms?
THANK YOU!!! :grouphug:

IMO, a LV 1 bedroom has the best chance of coming through.

If it were me (and I had the points), I would waitlist the 1 bedroom standard view (best case as no move), and a 1 bedroom Lake view (best overall chance).

Then I would visit the booking site on a regular basis, hoping to catch a cancellation of anything that would work - including the studios in all three categories.

Personally, I couldn't stomach spending the points for a 2 bedroom. I'd stay at SSR in a studio or 1 bedroom and move rather than do that, but that's me. You may feel differently.

Good uck!

THANK YOU. I was not aware of this so I will most certainly take your advice and do as you say.:thumbsup2

THANK YOU! I will also do as you say :cheer2:
I will WL a one bedroom standard view and a one bedroom LV and be a site stalker :upsidedow

THANK YOU BOTH VERY MUCH! :grouphug:

Another question (was going to say "one" more question, but can't promise that LOL):

IF my WL came through for a one bedroom lake view and I took it (or found it), can I still have a WL for that same day for a one bedroom standard view, this way if it came up, I would not have to move at all?
Thanks.

If you had two wait lists for the same dates and one of them comes through, the other would be cancelled.

Thank you.
Once it is canceled and I have December 26 say in a one bedroom lake view, could I put in a WL for a one bedroom standard view.
I would wait to have December 26 linked with the rest of my reservation.
Would this work for me?
Thanks DVC guru :hippie:

Yes, you could put in a "new" waitlist for the standard view after MS cancels the one you had.

MS cannot link (or combine) two reservations for different booking categories - lake view & standard view. But you can set up the "new" SV WL to cancel the 1 night LV reservation if/when the SV WL comes through. You can do that online or you can call and have MS do it.

Can they link up the same category room (eg, 1BR LV) from points and cash inventories? If yes, it's not a bad idea just to pay for one or two nights and link them up.

Depends. If the cash reservation was made by Member services, then yes. MS can link the reservations. No room change, but you may have to check out and back in again between the points and cash reservations. (Just a quick trip to the front desk takes care of it).

If the cash reservation was made through DRC, then no. However, you could request to stay in the same room by cross referencing the reservations -i.e., a note on the DRC reservation noting the DVC reservation # with a request to stay in the same room and a similar note on the DVC reservation that references the DRC reservation.

Hope a waitlist comes through for you. Cash reservations will be VERY expensive for the time you are planning to visit. You'd have to weigh the expense vs the inconvenience of changing rooms.
