BLT Top Of The World Lounge

Kids are allowed, but there is t a kids menu. I'm not sure I would call anything on the menu "kid friendly." I know there are soft pretzel bites, and we ordered the steak flatbreads, shrimp cocktail, and pulled pork sliders two nights ago. The seven-layer chocolate cake is amazing.

Are there kids items on the menu?
Are kids allowed up there?
Are there tables with fireworks viewing or is it best to go outside?
How early should we get there for a window table?
Do they take/ do you need ADRs?

We are visiting in early June 2017 and I'm considering this for our first night. With the time change from AZ, it may feel like dinner time at fireworks time. But then we'd be right at the hotel instead of fighting the crowds in MK.

There are 2 areas, the viewing deck and the bar/lounge. IMO the bar/lounge is more of an adult venue and in the past some have posted that children being kids in that area, being loud, running around wasn't well received. There really isn't anything to keep them entertained.

Is it fine to go up to the viewing deck without ordering anything? If we go, we may order drinks or might do a light dinner. My kids have been taught not to get out of their seats or be loud at dinner whether it's at home, McDonalds or a nicer restaurant. In fact, we are often stopped and complimented on how well they sit (without devices as well). It is one area in my parenting I am proud of- because for sure they (and I) aren't perfect! But... Even with that... Since its travel day... That leads to some unpredictability and I'd hate to put ourselves in a situation which is difficult to manage. If we can just watch from the viewing area- that's great. If they are wired and antsy.... Our other plan is to watch the water parade from the beach, swim and maybe take a monorail ride.

As I posted, the areas are separate. While adults may love looking at fireworks, I wonder how many children truly appreciate them or are we as parents expecting our children to feel the same way that we do. I remember a Forth of July fireworks show that we took the family to. We paid extra for better seats, DW and I enjoyed the show, our son played in the dirt.

To the OP, should you attend and if the kids need a change of location, the bridge between BLT and the Contemporary is another good viewing spot and there is a viewing deck at the Contemporary next to the bridge. Both have the show audio piped in.
