Do they provide pool towels? Can kids wear swimmies/floaties? Are tubes allowed?
My kids are 6 and 4 - can they use the slides at the pools if they can't swim (we catch them)

Thanks

yes they can and they have towels at the pool - remember you must bring your room key - you need it to get into the gate and back in the building when you are thru swimming.

thinks your kids would also enjoy the splash area.

the pool was only like 3' deep. So adults generally enjoy the CR pool a little better.

As mentioned CR pools are great too... both BLT and CR have splash areas.

In regards to catching them at the end of the slide, I guess you could. BLT pool gets crowded with young families in the afternoon, my boys are older so we would head over to CR, much bigger pool area. Plus, they have this cool circle pool by the lake, the water is about 4.5 feet so it for swimmers, very nice.

Also dont forget that at CR you have the marina with the mini boats etc., for rent. We did the mini (mickey) boats our first day at the resort. The boys had a blast.

Enjoy BLT...we are heading back next year....going to HHI this summer.

:thumbsup2

The lifeguards won't allow anyone to wait directly in front of the slide to catch their child. You must wait off to the side or back from it a bit. We heard many parents being told to move away from the bottom of the slide during the 5x we've stayed at BLT thus far.

Most of the pools with lifeguards do not allow tubes or large floats. Noodles, yes. Floaties on little kids, yes.

And no catching kids at the bottom of the slide. Too much chance of someone getting hurt when they don't see you at the bottom of the slide until they are right on you.

even if we are not DVC members can we go to the CR pool? We rentedt the rooms from a DVC member.

Yes, it is basically one resort. It's just that the BLT pool is small and, thus, CR guests are not permitted there.

Just a quick comment about BLT pool...we were in WDW a few weeks ago, staying at VWL and OKW (BLT is our home resort, but we've been staying all over the place, trying to get a feel for the different resorts).

We pool hopped to the Contemporary one day, and it felt nice and spacious, not too crowded at all. Out of curiousity, i strolled over to the BLT pool to see how it looked....WOW! It was mobbed, looked like you could barely move in the pool OR on the deck.

Also, as an owner there i was wondering so i checked..every single entry gate to the pool was unlocked. Anyone could have strolled in.

And they probably did. I've heard BLT pool described as people soup.

When we have stayed at BLT we have never experienced the pool being too busy.

The CR pool are a very short walk away and I would wonder over there if ever crowding became an issue.

We were at BLT April 26 to May 1. You can be right about the large slide we did not use it, but my 5 year old granddaughter used the small slide and I caught her in front of the slide what feels like a hundred times during the week. I observed many other parents doing the same and never was told by the lifeguards not to.
Towels were provide as well as life vest for the children.

Yes, pool towels are provided. Kids can use swimmies/floaties, but tubes can be another story. Depending on how crowded the pool is, tubes and noodles may or may not be allowed. BLT's pool can get quite crowded in the middle of the afternoon and I have seen the lifeguards ask people to remove tubes and noodles from the pool during high occupancy periods. If the crowds are down, they tend not to care as much about them.

IIRC, there is a height requirement for the big slide (the actual number escapes me now, but it's not very tall). If the child meets the height requirement, they can use the slide. The lifeguards will not allow you to stand right in front of the big slide to catch a child, but you can stand to the side of the slide or a few feet back and be within an arms reach or so of them.

I was referring to the big slide. My comments stand as far as that slide is concerned.
