BLT Laundry Facilities

We've never stayed in anything less than a 1BR unit at BLT, but for our upcoming trip my mom and dad will be staying in a studio room at BLT on our points. Unfortunately, though I've tried to get the rest of us in a 2BR unit there, no such luck even with being on the waitlist at 7 months. It's Thanksgiving week...so no surprise.

In the event we remain in different resorts, my dad has requested a need for a washer/dryer for them due to some recent incontinence issues for my mom, who continues to undergo chemotherapy on a regular basis.

It looks like from what I'm reading the laundry facilities at BLT are all on the first floor? Can anybody verify that? I'm going to try to get them in a room close to them if possible but if not...can you tell me if they are like the other Disney facilities I've used and they do the text messaging to let you know when they are done or when they are available for use?

Yes they are on the first floor, close to one of the elevator banks. They do have the laundry room app, but I'm sorry I can't tell you much about it. We don't have a smart phone and my table/laptop skills are very basic.

Ok...good to know and thanks for the confirmation. We've used the app before at Polynesian Villas so I'm sure it's probably the same.

The BLT laundry room is adjacent to the north elevator alcove and it uses the same Laundryview.com website as all the other Disney resorts.

All of the villas on the first floor are Standard View villas, so unless you booked a Standard View villa for your parents, they will have to take the elevator to reach the laundry room. Since the BLT elevators are very quick, in my opinion it doesn't really matter whether my villa is on the 2nd floor or on the 16th floor; it takes about the same to get down to the 1st floor. What I would request in your parent's case is a villa near the north bank of elevators, which would save them a few steps.
