BLT - just back, tried it now on to other resorts

Just back from a 2 night stay during our F & W gluttony weekend. The studio did seem small, but surprisingly had lots of storage. I agree with all previous posters about the odd design of bathroom sink and kitchenette. We checked in (on-line check -in) about 10:45 am and didn't get assigned a room until 4pm. What a great standard view -- we were in 7406, and had a straight on view of tennis courts and Bay Lake and MK off to the left. It was very relaxing to look at the lake.

I think I would choose VWL over BLT next time that's an option. Our next trip in May is a value studio at AKV, and then in November '11 it's hopefully a treehouse at SSR.

wow i was there at the same time in a 2 bedroom. it was immaculate and gorgeous. I would never stay in a studio though so size wasnt an uissue. room wasnt dirty and aside from a chip on the dining table and dent in fridge was perfect. but who cares about that stuff, its a hotel, not your house

I agree on the studio being to small, but the 2 bedroom is great. We stayed with 7 in the 2 bedroom 9/17 - 9/24 w/ MK view and it was excellent. We have 3 children all (6,3,&1 yrs of age) and they loved the view of MK and the monorail. The reason we bought into DVC was because of BLT.. Definitely worth staying atleast once. We have stayed at OKW and BCV and we prefer BLT as We felt like we never left Disney the whole time we were there. Enjoy your trip!

I just booked a 2 bedroom at BLT for our May, 2011 trip. Our home resort is SSR, and we love:love: it! We wanted to try BLT because of our love to MK, and the closeness to the park. I plan on doing some cooking this trip, so that was another reason to try BLT. We did the tour of BLT during our stay last year and loved the models.

My question is it worth the points? I have read many blogs that mention the rooms are small and have damage to the furniture? Any opinions or suggestions welcome!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our dedicated 2 bedroom BLT stay. We would do it again.

I'm on a waitlist for a BLT studio in December. (Pixie dust please!:wizard:) I'll be with a friend and I would love to show her the view/fireworks from TOWL. We'll make do with the smallness of the studio....I really want her to experience that premier location!

Add us to those who think BLT is just "okay".

BLT is not on our list of favorites, either. Enjoyed our recent stay, but probably won't try to stay there again for a while. The monorail to EPCOT was the deal breaker for us - it took forever, and we love EPCOT.

YES! As everyone says though each resort appeals to everyone differently. We are originally SSR owners. We added on to BLT during our first DVC trip in 2008. After staying at BLT in Mar we decided we wanted to own more pts there, but had not done the add on until last week.

Two weeks ago we put our SSR pts up for sale, and received and offer today. We purchased more BLT last week so we will soon be just BLT owners.

We personally love it. We love SSR as well. For SSR we liked the relaxing grounds, and views of DTD. It is very peaceful.

However for us, BLT was just the way to go. With young children nothing beats the walk to MK and monorail to Epcot. The view of MK from BLT was amazing. Watching the fireworks in our pj's with a glass of wine was great. We had breakfast every morning looking at the castle and park. It was pure magic.

Also DW always stayed at the contemporary as a child so it holds a special meaning to her.

I will admit that I do miss the grounds of SSR to walk. We stayed at GF this July on cash and it was nice to walk around the resort. BLT does not have that.

But that being said the positives outweigh the negatives. However, do to the size of the studio, we would never stay in one at BLT unless it was just DW and I.

Some people don't like BLT and I am sure we will not like some resorts. WE stayed at OKW and you will have a hard time getting DW to ever go back. That is the beauty of DVC, something for everyone.

If you have never stayed, try it. It is the only way you will know.

We were there this past August, in a studio. Yes, they are small, no larger than a moderate resort's room. But there are only two of us, and so we found the room "cozy". It seemed well layed out; we had no trouble finding enough room to stash what we brough in the steamer trunk (or at least the equivalent of.)

If/when we add-on, it likely won't be at BLT. But we expect to return some year.

We were also there in August, in a studio, with three people and it was fine! I loved the water pressure in the shower...I was actually able to rinse all the soap and conditioner out of my hair! I didn't mind the set up with the vanity and the kitchen...I liked all of the counter space! I just didn't brush my hair in front of the mirror. I am also probably one of the few that like the bathroom door! I plan on staying there again, but can't stay there as much because of the point cost!

We loved our stay in a BLT studio, small and all (just two of us). It was brand new, week after opening, so I can't speak to wear/tear.

Really I think all the resorts are great; all have their pluses and minuses.
