I read somewhere you get DP if you add 100 pts at BLT. Is this true? and if so where can you use them? That link says you only get DP if you add 160 or more.

the d points are there but you have to ask for them. that is the way i got mine, 3 or 4 months after my purchase. and guess where i heard that you could get them after the fact. right here on the dis. at the time i purchased, they were not giving dps. never give up.

i am very excited about my new home and can not wait to stay there.

Ok now I am confused. Is the $6.25 discount the GC you get or is that something different? We just bought AKV while there over Christmas and we paid $104 a point. We used the GC for the down payment and our GC was in the amount of 1312.50 which would be 6.25 x 210 which is the number of points we bought. I think we got what we were supposed to but the site had something about the discount, the DP's and then $1000 GC.

i do not understand about the gc. is that a gift card? do you mean that at dl they give developer points and gift cards? if so i think it will be worth a trip to california. i have also heard that they give annual passes.

if you are new member you need 160 points

but an add on from a current member you only need 100 points or more.

got Dp and the discount for my 120 points - brought in 2 - 60 points contracts

for blt purchase is there a discount on price and dps? what is the regular price and how much is the discount? this seems to be very different from the deal at the time i purchased. i already have 180 pts but feel that i need a few more to get the length of stay that we would like and i can use any discounts and incentives. sometimes they are there but the guides are not allowed to say anything unless you tell them that you know. please give me a little advice.

sorry, if your new to the dis i was not making myself very clear.

d pts are developer points. sometimes dvc guides offer one developer point for every point you purchase when buying into dvc. you only get those pts one time and they can not be used at the dvc resort you are purchasing. they are offered when the dvc resort is still under development and not ready for occupancy. that way they can give you the incentive of being able to go ahead and use your new membership immediatly. those pts must be used at specified resorts and by a certain date. if you purchase 200 pts. in a dvc under construction you would get 200 developer pts. it's really a nice incentive. you get to go to wdw sooner!

the 1,000 was only for new members who purchased 200 or more points.

This is currently generally true as it applies to AKV and BLT which are not done yet. But that's not always the case with DPs. We got matching DPs last year when we bought at SSR and they were usable anywhere -- it had nothing to do with construction or anything. They offer them when they think they need to, to boost sales.

The gift card can be either a gift card or you can use it to put against your down payment.

I'd check out dvcowners.com -they usually have the latest info.

when we bought our BLT back in October, I heard nothing about Developer Points. All I got was a gift card with either $25 or $50 per person in our group for oour time while listening to the spiel. Wish I had been overed the DPs too since BLT doesn't open until September (hopefully).

Or you could get BLT points for $112 per point, a $1000 gift card, the matching points, and there was one where it would be a 5 night 1 bdr stay at the resort of your choice. There was one other one, but deal #'s 2 and 3 had to do with the number of points.

Will this change on 1/15? I know that it has been confirmed that they are NOT raising the minimum to buy in new to 200. It will remain 160. However for add ons I think you will only be able to buy a minimum of 100.

But I want to know if the incentives to buy into BLT at 112 - 5 = 107 per point will change?? Anybody know?

i did manage to get a small add-on (to bring my blt points up to 205) but i did not get any incentives at all with 25 pts. i did get dps, retro, with my inicial purchase, but not with the 25 pt. add-on.

i paid full price for the founders pts. no 5.00 off and no gc. was that norm for everyone else?.

I got my devloper points!
I called my rep a week ago and said everyone on this board was getting developer points and that it didn't matter when they purchased or what other quirks they had received. He said they were originally for Novemer purchases, than occasionally if people asked, now everyone who asks gets them.
I got 250 developer points to match my 250 annual points.
They are only good until October 1st, 2009 and are only good at Sarratoga Springs in Disney World.
